How to get Portal 2 to work on Retina Macbook Pro?

I've got the Retina Macbook Pro and I bought Portal 2 off Steam. The main menu loads up perfectly but when i click on single player or coop it doesn't work. I have to force quit it because it isn't responding, any help on how to make it work? I am using Mountain Lion by the way.

I may be wrong here, but I don't think Valve has released a patch for Retina usage yet and maybe the cause for your problem.

Also, it could well be a badly installed game, try reinstalling?

Did you setup the graphic options like resolution and detail etc?

I don't even think they need to patch it. LFD2 worked perfectly on it.

Works great in Win7. Even runs at about 45fps at 2880x1800.

I just decided to give it one more go and when i opened Steam it updated Portal 2 now it works perfectly. Thanks anyway for any help 🙂

Glad it worked out. Some games just need a patch, nothing serious, just to let the game know about the new computer it can run on and prevent conflicts.
