I know! It's sooo helpful at confusing people -.-'

It's ridiculous. There's no way to distinguish "snapped" windows and ones that are just on the side. What a heaping ***** *** ******* ***.

Yet, Microsoft is clearly proud of their first time going wee-wee on their own. It's their first and only real original idea, no matter how pitiful, so they're circle-jerking it till it bleeds. How many "Windows was my idea" commercials feature that ONE freaking thing?! Sad.

BTW, Microsoft, you had to have customers on their knees begging for a more simple operating system before you finally gave it a shot?! Pathetic, once again. Only give the user just enough to keep coming back, like cattle.

If I remember right, there is a, "Submit Feedback" link at Apple.com and Apple fixed all of my Leopard issues in Snow Leopard...I suppose you'll advertise that your computers use mouses, next?

Try dragging 4 fingers down. Open a bunch of windows and drag 4 fingers up. It's awesome. Try scrolling through windows by using the inertial scroll with 2 fingers (like the iPhone). It's awesome too.

you can impress him by showing him how you its perfectionist design can easily allow for it to fit in your anal cavity. Obvious troll is Obvious.

mh, so just because i chose a funny username I'm a troll?? that's great logic!

I did not intend to start any kind of flame war with this thread and I don't expect there'll be one. I'm greatful to all who posted some honest suggestions and I'll kindly ignore all the insulting posts.

I understand, I actually found your name quite funny. I was chuckling over it the whole lunch. I know what your original post means and some good discussions did come up. Don't let the rest intimidate you. :)

@ Rest of you guys, you wanna see a real flame war ? Check out the dbag who created the "new HP Envy will hurt Apple's MBP" thread. That's for real.

Yes, any post that is not praising Apple eventually turns into a flame war on this forum. It's usually the way of things regardless of where you go. Try praising the iPhone on Andriod or Blackberry forums, it's the same thing, although admittedly, it does tend to be worse here.

Show him some objective third party evidence...

The latest issue of Consumer Reports that arrived this week reviews all current major laptop and desktop computers. Now, CR is not my first source of "tech authority", but it is interesting to note that in every size category the MacBook Pro laptops not only lead each category - but lead each category by a LOT.

Also, Quality rating was at the top - and while the reliability rating was only at the top for the Apple "desktops", the laptop reliability was no worse than the pack.

Essentially, you are buying the best built machine available anywhere - and getting a world class operating system to go with it.

Yeah, only a troll would be named, "Bill Gates."

The right answer is Spotlight :p. Apple owes me commission on the number of people I've converted (lol) who've just watched my day to day use and watched me use Spotlight, its search powers are ridiculously awesome. Faster calculator than the widget calculator, dictionary, file search, searching text within files etc and all done very cleanly and extremely quickly. Its one of my favourite things about the OS.

I get consumer reports too, and I noticed that too. EXCEPT if u look at the Mbps.they are LAST GENERATION MODELS. that's right. They arnt even the new ones and they beat out the newest computers that hae i3 i5 and i7s.

Spaces app - show him how you can have multiple desktops like having multiple screens that you can switch to quickly. This is especially handy on a laptop where you have a smaller screen

The fact that you don't have to turn it off, just close it to put it to sleep then show him how fast it comes up when you open it. very convenient.

+1 for Spaces. I discovered it 2 days ago and am loving it. Combined with BBT 4 finger swipe to switch between faces its a single action to switch from one app/screen to another, no more minimize then maximize, no more resizing, no more alt-tab, heck, no more running the mouse all over the screen. I just swipe 4 fingers left or right and I'm right at the app I want to be at.

why do you need to impress him? Is he going to be buying one soon? If you need to justify your purchase.....

Just google for some viruses to download.
Download a bunch of .exe files.
Put them on your mac, put them on his PC.
Turn any virus scans off...

The one who starts clicking has the cooler machine.

Yikes some aggression in here, so he has a joke name doesn't mean he's a troll.

Agree with Spotlight, cmd + space and it has many features as a search bar.

BetterTouchTool, as someone's already mentioned, you can enable windows snap like features, also you can program new multitouch gestures, I have spaces and dashboard programmed in which comes in very handy.

Shut it down so he can see how quick it takes. Even my Hack shut's down in a couple of seconds, yet on Wind 7 it usually takes at least 20 seconds, sometimes more.
