If it were an aftermarket purchase, would anybody think it weird if anybody wanted to buy the Samsung instead of Toshiba SSD to install?
Well that's just it, ain't it? This is NOT an aftermarket purchase. Apple is not in the business of selling Samsung SSDs or LG screens. They don't advertise that way nor they claim to offer any specific component brands.
God only knows what other components are in there (NIC, Bluetooth, USB controller) that if someone figured out the brand we'd start another whole family of threads "Broadcom vs Realtek NIC?". "The Broadcom gives me 190 megabits, Realtek 192". "How can I tell I have Realtek?" "Can I return my MBA because it's got a Broadcom NIC?"
Please, stop the madness!
