53 years old and i have never heard anyone use metric to describe size or weight or distance, except in the media, even my kids all use feet, stone, miles, so i guess those pesky imperial measurements are here to stay...5’9”!? Wow! Never mind the measurement feature how do we activate the travel back in time 300 years to the time when Roman measuremeant systems were relevant!? 😂😒
Hmm. I had rather assumed everyone was hinting at measuring at the 6-8 inches scale, but ok, that makes sense too.A few girls' bios say "you must be 6' tall" even if they're much shorter. Only a few but enough to be a meme. It can go the other way too, girls who are 6' saying they're 5'11.

Indeed! Though when Withings added the Tinder verification for their weight scale there was an uproar about body shaming.I call this the iPhone's new "Tinder Profile Verification" feature.
My experience so far with the handwashing feature is that it's utterly useless. It rarely comes on when I'm washing my hands, and when it does, it's usually frozen at 18, 17, or 16 seconds. It was a nice thought...This feature reminds me of the Apple Watch feature that times you when washing your hands
WRONGi can see it being a fun gimmick feature with american units, but i’m sure it’s gonna be way off in metric units, lidar is very low quality to be exact to 1 cm
Works every time for me...and still freaks me out.My experience so far with the handwashing feature is that it's utterly useless. It rarely comes on when I'm washing my hands, and when it does, it's usually frozen at 18, 17, or 16 seconds. It was a nice thought...
Yeah, it seems that places that used Imperial measurements "before" still use them, albeit sometimes interspersed with metric. My exposure to UK and Canadian television finds imperial to be ubiquitous. I use both at work, and I really don't see the need for purity of thought on one or the other. Liters are fine, so are gallons.53 years old and i have never heard anyone use metric to describe size or weight or distance, except in the media, even my kids all use feet, stone, miles, so i guess those pesky imperial measurements are here to stay...
5'9" is entry-level minimum height for males for internet dating or hookups. If you are 5' 7" , don't even bother.A few girls' bios say "you must be 6' tall" even if they're much shorter. Only a few but enough to be a meme. It can go the other way too, girls who are 6' saying they're 5'11.

Yeah I couldn't get it to work either. I wonder why as I can't find a way to debug itI have the same problem as others, it never works. Tried with different people, light and background conditions... Is there an easy way to test if the Lidar sensor is OK? (Without installing apps.)
Someone posted in Reddit to reset all settings. Not the erase all content and setting. I have tried it and it works for meYeah I couldn't get it to work either. I wonder why as I can't find a way to debug it
With Lidar it can tell precisely how far something is. And it’s fairly good now at identifying objects, like standing people, so it can find the top of one’s head and bottom of one’s feet. it can accurately measure the angle between those two points in-camera. After that it’s simple trigonometry to take distance and angle and calculate the length of the far side of the triangle. It blows my mind how this works, where is the reference point, how does it know what and Inch/cm is?
Same issue here. Have you fond any solution?I tried it, but I couldn’t get it to work. It just kept telling me to move further away or closer. Tried different lighting and backgrounds, nothing.
I really don't want to go through and redo all my settings. I'm hoping this is a bug that can be fixed on apple's side.Someone posted in Reddit to reset all settings. Not the erase all content and setting. I have tried it and it works for me
