I would love a low power mode that doesn't shut off my phone but rather, with user defined period of inactivity, just lowers screen brightness and reduces background processes, then 'wakes up' out of low power mode when I use it again.
Yea I wish there was a way to edit the parameters like on Android. The other stuff I don't even notice any slowdowns, but I want the timeout to be a little longer. 30s wouldn't even be so bad, if it didn't dim after like 5s

Excellent tips! Thank you!!

Question: Is there a way to set Automation feature for the iPhone not to charge pass 80% of the battery life? 🔋🔌
I use this shortcut with my homekit...

Nobody needs to do this. Just use and charge your phone normally folks. Don't live like this.
Low power mode was useful for me when I was cycling in Patagonia. It meant my phone was a useful tool for much longer.

Sorry for the confusion. You're right. Only when it reaches 80% will LPM get deactivated automatically.
I was using both automations for so long, I forgot the 80% default rule - shame on me.
I corrected my post accordingly.
No worries. At least, I didn’t suspect my phone has issues. Thanks anyway for the tips.

I have my iPhone set to switch to low power at 40% and back to normal at 50%. Usually just end of the day but can happen when biking and hiking(being on the edge of cell range depletes the battery pretty quickly.
What would be useful is if it could drop out of flight or low power mode briefly every hour or two to get messages or emails.

I set up mine to turn on Low Power Mode when I unplug from the charger. That way, it can go past the 80% threshold and trigger downloads, backups, etc. for that short time.

How did you do that?

I was looking around the device details area for something like plugged in and could not find it
