Keeping in mind my age and the country I live in, what jobs would pay minimum wage, and I think here in England minimum wage is £5.50 an hour (about $11).

Thanks dude, that is the best idea, do you know if they do Apple cards in the UK? Can you start with 0, and just keep adding on spare cash? Sorry for any gramatical mistakes, I sprained my pinky :D

I am sure they have gift cards in the U.K. and yes you can put any amount you want.

Thanks. Ive been looking around the website (UK version) and I cant find a gift card section. Is it only instore?
-Tom-

Giftcards typically have fees. If you want to save, you can open a bank account.

Or if you already have a bank account, you can set automatic transfers out of it each month (I do it twice a month).

The gift card idea is brilliant , better than a bank imo because it'll keep your mind focused on a mac , also you can't take the money out and spend it on something else like you can with a bank ( as far as I'm aware) .

Sell anything (you own) that you do not really , really need OR really love ...

A job is a good idea for sure ... ask family and friends first ....that'll build up your confidence for asking neighbours etc but BE CAREFUL !! who you ask k .

Take cuttings from plants ( or plant seeds) and grow them a little , when established sell 'em in the local paper.
you would be amazed how many people want plants for there rockery or garden , you can even get the seeds/ cuttings for free by collecting some from existing plants in your area

If your under 16 then there is a limit to how many hours you can work legally !

don't work for someone else ... work for you !!

Good luck

Which is why we say mow lawns, clean yards/garages, take care of pools, etc.

The stuff in the home that people don't want to do and will generally pay more than minimum wage.

Have to remember that some of the better kids actually grow these things into rather large businesses.

Sounds like a good idea to me. Talk with your parents about having a yard sale. Do the work, but have them supervise so you don't get taken. If you can, try something like craigslist to sell anything (with your parents permission) you or they no longer want/need.

good point .

make sure you have your mum/dad/ bigbrother , auntie mabel or whoever there to oversee a little bit , just in case !

I'm also 14, and what I do is buy and sell junk on my local Craigslist. As time has passed, I've gotten to know many people in the business and am now doing minor repairs for people at like $15 an hour.

Have you considered buying used?

Im 14 and the way I paid for my Mac Mini was by, in no particular order:

1) Saving up my $10 a week lunch money
2) Got my brother to buy me 3 Apple stocks(which I paid for), sold and got $60 profit. Bought at $155, sold at about $176.
4) Sold my PSP and all its games on Craigslist.
5) Did some chores around the house.

That all got me about $500. Begged my parents to pay the other $150 as a birthday gift, and it was one of the best $500 I've ever spent. I then asked my sister for an Apple Keyboard and Mighty Mouse for my birthday, which she gave me. And finally, my brother gave me an external HDD for my Bday, since the mini only has 80GB.

Good luck!
