Just beware that some solvents can and will damage the plastic screen.

Paint remover? LOL! No!

You're right! That would potentially ruin the finish on an apple product.

I've always used is lighter fluid. It absolutely works to remove adhesive without the goo gone grease and does not ruin a finish. I've used it to get stickers of of car paint or bike frames.

If anyone else gets anything stuck to the phone, you want to take the lighter fluid and apply it to the edge of the adhesive while gently pulling it up at an angle, like you would to peel it off. And just keep putting lighter fluid at the edge (just enough to saturate not enough to drip off the sides) as the sticky part peels back. It works best if you do it while the fluid is still wet, if it dried it might re-adhere.

Dental floss or fishing line. Slide under edge and gently pull along. Any remaining glue use solvent to remove.
Hey just now getting your message can I use any Dental Floss ?

Please tell me you are joking. Use any kind that allows you to pull it flat under without breaking. Flavor or brand don't matter. Refer to my avi picture or better yet double face palm.

No I'm not joking or anything being funny this is my first time that I'm doing this is never had this problem before and I don't know which one to use since the one I got is a cheap Brand

Floss works good. Add a hair dryer in the mix if floss alone doesn't work. If it still doesn't work, use a heat gun & fishing line.

Just kidding about the heat gun & fishing line lol! Although, it's good for removing car emblems.

How To Remove Car Emblem
That's awesome idea... I could do both floss and heat and use the old magnetic on my new iPhone 8!! Yahoo!

Congrats for removing this magnetic **** , I struggle from the same **** , would u mind if I asked u what kind of floss did u use !?

So, I have been using a Scosche product to mount my phone. I want to remove the magnet and stop using the mount altogether, but cannot figure out a way to do it without damaging the back of the phone. Any suggestions? I regret putting this thing on. It's fine if you're going to use it for the life of the phone, but I like to change things up so I should have stayed away.

I've tried to push the magnet to one side, but I can't make it budge. It's obviously adhered to the phone with adhesive. I've used a small pocket knife blade and small flathead screw driver (micro)...gently, but nothing has worked.

Any suggestions appreciated.
[doublepost=1513455655][/doublepost]After reading this thread I combined the blow dryer suggestion and dental floss suggestion. The metal plate came off in less than 5 minutes.... Thanks everyone!

NAIL CLIPPERS !!!!!! GRAB THE CORNER OF THE MAGNET WITH NAIL CLIPPERS AND PULL UP ENOUGH TO WHERE YOU CAN SLIDE A CREDIT CARD IN THERE TO REMOVE ALL THE WAY. THIS WORKED AMAZING FOR ME!!!

Well I posted to help others that stumble across this thread with a google search with the same issue as I did today. The caps were because I was super excited to find a way to get it off easily without damaging the paint on my phone. lol : )
