I have an old *MacBook Pro (Retina, 13-inch, Mid 2014) running macOS Big Sur 11.7.10.

I want to run the latest version of MacDraw, called ClarisDraw, on this computer.

Wikipedia says this about it...

MacDraw eventually evolved into MacDraw Pro (1991) and ultimately ClarisDraw (1993). The final version of ClarisDraw was 1.0v4 (1994). It runs without difficulties on PowerPC-based Macs under Classic Mac OS and the Mac OS X Classic Environment (which is included in Mac OS X 10.4 Tiger and earlier).

Does anyone know what I need to do to run the good ol MacDraw / ClarisDraw on my old Macbook Pro 13 (Retina, Mid 2014)?

*Processor: 2.6 GHz Dual-Core Intel Core i5
Memory: 8 GB 1600 MHz DDR3

You need a PowerPC emulator like QEMU running MacOS 9.2.2. Setting up QEMU is not for the computer novice. In broad strokes -
  1. Download UTM [https://mac.getutm.app/]
  2. Download pre-built QEMU/UTM config file for booting PowerPC version of MacOS 9 [https://github.com/adespoton/utmconfigs
  3. Read, read, read, read, ...... and read some more.
    1. https://docs.getutm.app/
    2. https://www.emaculation.com/doku.php/qemu
Good luck! There is a very helpful community on the Emaculation forums [https://www.emaculation.com/forum/].

Thank you very much!

Three questions, please....

1) Is it possible to run MacOS 9 on Parallels or Oracle's VirtualBox?

2) I have set up and used those in the past to run Windows on a Mac. (VirtualBox was free and also my favorite.) You said doing this is "not for the computer novice." Is it any more difficult than installing Parallels or Oracle's VirtualBox and then installing Windows?

3) It's been years since I did that so I don't remember the reason why I did'nt used Boot Camp Assistant, but would that work too?

You wouldn’t be able to run MacOS 9 in Parallels or Virtual box because it’s written for PowerPC processors and they run on x86 processors.

You would need an emulator like Bigwaff recommended.
