Clippy is waaaaaayyyy better then that.

What's the number?

You might be able to use an e-mail or HTTP to SMS gateway...
The number is 68683.

Use the text send feature on ATT.com and make a macro to send texts.
When I try to do it, it'll only let me send texts from my mom's number for some reason, because her phone is the main one on the plan.

Switch back to the razr. Setup http://mirasoftware.com/BPE2/ then create a automator script. Tell it to loop and just leave your computer to do that for awhile, it will probably lock up your computer looping like that. But it should still run. If not just double click it all the time. :D

I have the same question but for the sidekick. I tried using the bluetooth thing on my macbook and it's not compatible. any other known mac programs/software that will work?

Ok, so a local radio station is having a contest, and whoever sends the most text messages to their (as in the radio station's) number by Feb. 28 wins a trip to a concert.

What do you think the best way to send out tons of text from my iPhone number would be? I dont think I'll have a chance by just typing, pressing send, typing, pressing send, etc. Any suggestions?

Dude I just had an awesome idea!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Send a bunch of text then forward all of those then go forward all of those and keep going! On iOS 7 hold the text message and hit more. Good luck!!!

Op is not the only one looking for a DECENT app in this space - which is lacking for a good app to do so.

Seriously? This thread is all about a highly specialized request which, from where I'm sitting and referencing the volume of messages that is mentioned in Post #1, would only be needed by contest participants and mass text spammers.

Well then it seems that this thread is not for you. The exit is that way ^ :)

I'm a bit annoyed a radio station would encourage abuse of network resources in this way. This may be enough to cause a denial of service attack on the local cellular network, since text messages are sent using the control channel and are not treated as "regular data". The control channel doesn't have a lot of bandwidth associated with it.

Ugh. Idiots...

So, when we organize some events of 30 to 50 people for local social group or yoga group or whatever else 'meetup' kind of group, to send information to people not programmed into the phone / or not critical enough to have on the phone, but as a LIST that I can Pop in from Excel or CSV file or Plain TXT list, it helps to have an App that can take the LIST and run with it - Send via my phone.

Would that be a valid question to ask without being spammy?

Sounds like there might be apps for that, like https://itunes.apple.com/us/app/group-sms-send-text-messages/id406839270?mt=8 or https://itunes.apple.com/us/app/grouptexts/id503146508?mt=8, for example.
