Life is challenging. There will be problems. How we deal with those problems is the path to happiness.:)

I find the act of overcoming the barriers between me and my happiness makes me happy, or at least gives me pleasure. The challenge, the strategy, the the struggle and the satisfaction are all sources of good feeling. Find that space and you will never be unhappy.

I was unhappy for a time. I made a ten year plan, attacking my biggest problems one after the other. It helps to have a sense of what it is that you want versus what you think you want because of pressures from your family and society. The other thing is that life presents us with too many choices of how to be happy so when we aren't optimally happy, we take this is as a negative. I have explained to lots of my friends how I chose my job because most things would have been just a job and even though a job is a huge percentage of your life, you can find your joy outside of it. If you can afford anything Apple sells beyond an ipod shuffle you probably are doing well in the human game since you could have been born in a third world country.

waloshin, your threads often make me happy. I love these out in left field questions and discussions!

anyway, why would anyone want to be happy all of the time? you need a range of emotions to be healthy IMHO.

"Happiness is the interval between periods of unhappiness."

- Don Marquis

IMO it's impossible to be happy 24/7. We are all unhappy sometimes, it's completely normal. Without unhappiness, there would be no happiness as everything would be and feel the same.

A quote you would expect from someone in Finland...;)
May I suggest: "Unhappiness is the interval between periods of happiness."

Seriously, I agree no one is happy ALL the time (that would be mania).
OP, there is some good advice on here (except the black tar heroin).

keep it to basics and it's quite easy:

1. be thankful you got up (ie. that you're not dead).

2. do something you enjoy and if you don't and want something different, make it happen.

But #1 is honestly the way to go.

doesn't need to be complicated.
:)

Life is too short to be moody, bitchy and possibly depressed... so how to stay happy at all times no matter what you may go through?

You can't! It's not humanly possible.

Learn to enjoy being "moody, bitchy and depressed" some of the time.
It gives balance to happiness and makes it more profound.

Have Fun,

Do drugs.

They're not so good for feeling happy *all* the time, just very happy some of the time.

On a more serious note: find love. I've been happy pretty much all the time since doing so, even when things are crap I know that she'll always be there.

Not taking things too seriously helps too, of course there are times when this just doesn't work but most things people seem to get their knickers in a twist about tend to be fairly inconsequential, the world would be a better place if everyone learnt to just let go.
