I'm looking at buying a used Milanese loop and want to make sure it's not a knockoff. Is there a small logo or other branding on the authentic band that would tell me if it's real or not? Thanks

Yup, haven't yet seen a replica with the '38mm/42mm' markings on the lug (the one which isn't connected to the loop), and a 'Assembled in China' marking on the rounded edge of the other lug.

Thanks for this post! I got my Apple Watch on eBay and have been wondering if the Milanese loop was authentic - it is. I took a look at the lug and it does say "42mm :). I have a 3rd party one as well and can confirm it doesn't say it on that one.

These etchings are pretty hard to see, but on the genuine real Apple one there are two, as per the below

I have a chance to buy one used for $100, but I have no idea how to tell if it is real. What should I check?
Pretty simple 3 checks
.42mm etch on one join
.assembled in China on one join
.the magnetic tab does not fit through the loop, the one join will not be separated

Any recommendations for a high quality knock off? Amazon reviews are worthless with all of the fake 5 star ratings.
the one I got seems to be gone. the black is wearing off on the inside I guess from the magnet rubbing on it. but the magnet is strong and it does not come unadjusted during the day.

I can’t locate a serial number on those tabs on my Milanese Loop, bought from Apple directly.

hmm I see it on mine (newest version) bought directly from Apple. Some of the other bands don't have it tho, esp older ones. It's not 100% consistent with sport bands so I guess it isn't with the Milanese loop either.

My strap is also fairly old, I originally bought it with my S1.
