"Why is there a surge in people looking for flight U2502?"
"Better ground it and do a full security search."

That's interesting! LH772 shows up here as well. It still seems to be a hit or miss. OS122, BT244, LH440 all don't show up, LH904 does. Very strange.

This has been around for a long time. Surprised to see so many who didn't know. Think it's been around since iOS 11 or even earlier. Really cool feature though so always worth reminding people
I've known about it for ages, and I'm sure it was mentioned here when it first came out some time in 2018.I don’t know what’s weirder
That it’s apparently been there for years and most of us didn’t notice and macrumors never mentioned it.
Or the fact that it doesn’t seem finished or polished. If it was new you’d think they’d work on it more but if it’s years old then theyve forgotten about it too.
I’ve noticed this as well. I think it’s been gone for years, actually. A shame, as I loved it.Related, asking Siri what flights are overhead no longer works for me. Anyone else?
Yes. Turning Siri ON and adjusting the setting above makes this feature work. Otherwise it doesn't.Those that can’t get it to work, have a look here:
Settings
Siri & Search
Content from Apple
Show in Spotlight
if I turn that off it stops working, so might be off for you.
You don't have to enable Siri the voice assistant. Just the toggle from the post you quoted.Yes. Turning Siri ON and adjusting the setting above makes this feature work. Otherwise it doesn't.

However, I don't find it that useful as typically I look at flight details for flights I'm booked on, in which case the relevant airline app is better. Or if one wants to check average delays etc. then Flightaware works well.
I've heard good things about the app "Flighty" and I gave it a go, but it's not cheap and really more suited to those who fly a lot, typically for work.
Edit: Feature was present from iOS9!
