Oooh, thanks for the heads up cause I was going to do that since I work 9-5 on Friday. I'd rather have to hussle down to their main hub which is not close to me than wait til Monday (Which means I gotta remember if I can tell them to do that from my phone at work or if I'll ahve to wait to get the little note on the door saying they tried to deliver).
This is why I was wishing it was FedEx. FedEx would have let me have it held somewhere before they first try delivery (I hear UPS if you sign up for myUPS but I just tried to change delivery and it won't let me) and they would have had several convenient locations that were open late Friday and at worst were also open Saturday. Though it appears if I want to pay 5 bux I can get UPS to leave it at one of their stores which are open Saturday (FedEx would have left it at one of their stores for free... frikkin UPS... they are very quickly becoming my least favorite carrier, and no, it's not just over this but they are not too friendly if you don't want to work on their schedule. I don't even know why they are loathe to leave a package without delivery attempt, I'm saving them gas!!!! And I know why Apple likes them, they will never deliver before the date they promise. Even if it is sitting in the wharehouse right next door to you. And this is without some company telling them they cannot).
Least their delivery guys here are friendly (I like their delivery guys, but how they operate just sux! I prefer USPS. At least they'll deliver your package as soon as it gets there).

You don't, until Apple or carrier tells you. Folks here are guessing and trying each site until they get an answer.
I did this last year and it never made it to the store, it was at the sorting facility. I wonder if the date will change for you tomorrow. Because I don't want UPS leaving it on my porch

I got it working using the apple order number sans last 2 digits. For some reason though its showing 2 packages with same tracking. Maybe I'll get 2 phones

and it shows they were processed in china at different times. only ordered 1 phone
Every launch so far there have been a handful of lucky souls who (because of a mistake) get theirs early. More likely than not, that date is a mistake and you won't get it till Friday. But you can hope.

Yes your early, if they wanted you to have your tracking info they would have mailed it to you.
It takes time to assign all the preorders a shipping tracking number.
I ordered through Verizon too, but I can't get a tracking number. Is yours UPS or FedEx?
Mine is shipping through Verizon and I did the trick of my order number minus the last 2 numbers
