Just got off a chat session with Apple Support. It will not be out for a couple weeks. They had to rush iOS 11.2 out because of the bugs, and Apple Pay Cash is not there yet. Stay tuned...

A couple of WEEKS? Seriously?

First they told us we'll get this iOS11. iOS11 comes and no Apple Pay Cash. iOS11.1 comes and we're told it will be 11.2. 11.2 comes and now it's a couple of weeks.

What's the excuse going to be in a couple of weeks?

Look, this thing has been beta tested up the wazoo. Just turn it the f--- on.

No HomePod either. Apple is becoming the king of vaporware.

I hate the two step authentication requirement. Guess I won’t do Apple Pay cash.

Cause my work blocks emails and if I misplace my phone and I’m kinda of screwed cause no way to use two step since no outside email access to re authenticate

King of vaporware? How much has been promised and never actually released?

The title.
Apple Pay Cash Now Available for iOS 11.2 Users
The few posts above me state that it isn't. And for me, I went through the alternate steps in the How To, and got the message "Apple Pay Cash service are currently unavailable. Try again later."

Looks like they've just updated the post.
That isn't what this article and discussion has been about. It's about Apple Pay Cash appearing in iOS 11.2 beta 2 and how it could be used there.

We all just got a notification that is has been turned on and MR linked to this post for a 'How To' activate it on your phone.

The text of the post said (in part):
Because it wasn't activated, Apple Pay Cash was not usable, despite being listed as a feature in the update's release notes. Apple today made Apple Pay Cash officially available in the United States, so it can be used by all iPhone and iPad owners who have iOS 11.2 installed.

Then, when I do so, it says Apple Pay Cash services are currently unavailable. Still rolling out, I guess.

I'm in the US and it doesn't work for me. WTF is going on. Apple has gotten sloppy with internet software services lately.

I was able to set up Apple Pay with a debit card that should be linked but it doesn't allow me to add funds. It just keeps asking me to add a debit card first, which I already did. Hmmmmm.

In order to work you have to enable two factor authentication, no thanks, that's a pain in the ***.

I’ve received money into my Apple Pay Cash account, but I can’t get it out because the card has been “Activating” for the past 8 days. The article says the activation should take a few seconds.

Should I just keep waiting, or do I contact someone somehow?

Yeah, it's hung. What happens if you turn off Apple Pay Cash (Settings/Wallet.../Apple Pay Cash) and turn it back on. Does that allow you to activate the card? Is this a debit card or a credit card?

I don't remember how or when it got fixed, but I don't have the issue anymore. Although something I don't think I realized when I complained is how very easy it is to just pay with Apple Pay Cash instead of one of your other cards on Apple Pay when you use it. I think I thought the money was only good for trading peer-to-peer (which, actually, I do that a decent amount, too.)
