Put your iPhone 4 on top of your TV, hit play.

Streaming is your best option. God I love my PS3.

I'll probably just put them on my desktop and stream them to my PS3.

Yep, I use PS3 Media Server on my iMac and can pretty much stream just about any video format there is. Wireless or wired should work okay for 720p video. If the iPhone 4's video format will not play natively on the PS3 (MOV files do not, for example), PS3 Media Server will just transcode on the fly and will keep the videos in HD.

Oh man, that's brilliant. I just installed ps3 media sever and works like a charm!

Yeah, I use PS3 Media Server on my Win7 desktop. It's a great little program!

You all are making it way too complicated. Import the video to your iMac from the phone. Bring it into iTunes. Sync your Apple TV. It will be in HD without having to burn anything.

Wow, and Apple could have just supported 720 out. That is the real mystery here, why they didn't.

Has anyone actually tried to output content with composite cables?

Is it reasonably good quality 480i??

Also has anyone tried outputting mobitv using 480i?

I am considering ditching my home cable if i can output at 480i reasonably well.

Ya, I'm surprised no one's mentioned these.

Cause I tried it and it doesn't work...iPod function is the only choice to output to external source. For some reason the video quality degrades when put into iTunes...at least for me

So you record an HD video, plug these cables in to your TV and the outputted video is downgraded?

Or do you mean videos you take with the phone aren't selectable for output?

In a related question: How do you copy the video file off the iPhone 4 to OSX. I see the videos in Camera Roll, so must I use iPhoto to import or is there a way just to copy the file to a folder?

I have no idea about moving to iTunes but the tech specs for Iphone 4 here:

http://www.apple.com/iphone/specs.html

say that max output is 480i using composite cables.

standard vga for regular vga video

480p for component cables
