I will be a new owner soon and wondering how and when you typically charge your watch. I have been used to fitbit and typically charge while showering and getting dressed. It only needs it every few days. I am beginning to wonder if I will be happy with the AW given its charging needs.
[doublepost=1506014477][/doublepost]I should also add that I would like to use it to measure my sleep...

I typically charge from around 9pm until bed, and from when I wake up in the morning until I leave for work. It's overkill but it means if I miss a charging session I'll still make it to the next one.

I charge when I sleep, but when I did sleep tracking, just an hour or two before bed and then morning shower. Never had any battery issues.

I charge my 38mm Series 0 twice in a 24 hour cycle, because I wear it to bed for sleep monitoring. The big charge is at night, around 9:00pm or so, while I'm putting the kids to bed and relaxing. It doesn't take long to charge it up to 100%, so I put it back on before I go to sleep. I use the Pillow app for sleep monitoring. When I wake up in the morning it still has enough battery to get me through the day, but I will top it off with a charge while I'm showering and getting ready for work.

Because of the two charging cycles, I can wear the watch for roughly 20 to 22 hours a day and never get below 10%. Quite often I never get below 25%, but workouts will drain the battery a bit faster. Watch OS4 seems to be a bit more efficient for me so far.

My series 0 is 70+% after a day.
Never used for sleep tracking though...

Wow. What's your usage like? I'm down to 70% in the first few hours of putting my watch on with maybe a couple dozen notifications every hour.

Couple dozen notifications every hour? I guess that could certainly have an impact on battery life. I rely pretty heavily on notifications, but i also filter out the unnecessary ones.

Battery life can vary quite a bit day to day for me, but generally I probably see an average battery drain of 5% an hour. This morning, which was quiet on the notification front, it was 3% an hour. During a workout it might be 10% or more per hour. I always figured the battery drains fastest while I'm working out, in a phone call (which I rarely do on the watch), or actively using the watch for whatever reason. I never thought of notifications as a significant battery drain, but if you get enough of them they certainly could be.

I have many unnecessary ones filtered out as well, limited down to pretty much texts and emails. Those account for 95% of all notifications I receive. The rest just go through my phone.

I wear my AW generally during the day when at work. It's put on the charger when I get home until I leave for work the next morning.

My series 0 is on 44% at the moment and have 11k steps logged in addition to an hour HIIT workout tracked on the watch.

I have regular notifications throughout the day and around 100 emails coming through.

I have raise to wake function switched off though - this makes a massive difference as with it on, I would have a 10% alert by now.

I forgot to add though I remove it to charge at around midnight when going to bed and pop on when I wake up, no other charging needed.

That's just it. I'm sure I could get much better battery life if I turned off background app refresh and uninstalled all my apps and turned off raise to wake and turned off hey, Siri, but then what's the point of the watch?

I have everything enabled, the only change is the raise to wake function as I regular move about and raise my hands etc so it was forever showing the screen. It makes a massive difference.

All other settings are the same however, all apps installed etc.

I usually charge mine when I go to bed with a good bit of battery left and put it back on right before I leave for work.

When I track my sleep I put it in theater mode which keeps the display from coming on except when I tap it. After a whole night it might be down to 90%. I also used this mode during Hurricane Irma as I wasn't at my house and had rely on charging it when I could. Sort of like a power save mode.

I can't move while it's charging since I don't get credit for it...

If it's below 15% when I'm heading to bed, it goes on the charger. I think that's every 3rd day.

I charge it when I wake up in the morning, while I am in the shower. I wear it all day, including an hour or so in the gym. When I do end up filling all of my rings, the battery is usually around 50%. I put it on the charger about an hour before I go to bed. It is very rare that my battery is below 40% at the end of the day.

That’s a fair few notifications!
A ‘day’ for me is probably 6:45am to 6pm, I put it on the charger when I get in from work as it’s tracked the walking calories I’ve wanted it to.
I don’t use any workout programs, so just the calories it logs normally (minimal heart rate syncs) and maybe on average 2-3 notifications an hour (email/text).

I bought more then one watch so that I would have another to wear while one charges. I wear one of the three to work though because it gets wet and dirty. If it's less then 60% after wearing it from the day before, I'll charge it but usually I can go two days on my watches.
