So since getting my Apple Watch on launch day, I've been charging it as per the first photo (just flat on a microfibre towel), but since receiving my Milanese loop today, I'm going to start charging it in the original case as shown in the second photo. It's as close as I'm going to get to the edition charging case!

So, how / where do you charge yours?

I charge it at night in the original case. I have a stand from Pad & Quill on order, but it hasn't shipped yet.

Mine just gets dumped onto my desk at the moment, I'm not babying it. Saying that I'm just waiting on my stand being delivered so I can have it sitting at my bedside, just for convenience.

Lying on top of whatever happens to be on my bedside table where the charger is. Sometimes that's an iPad, last two nights it was a few rolls of hockey tape.

I wear it all day and night, then charge it in the morning on the nightstand while I shower/get dressed. Goes from 40% to 90% in 30 minutes.

I might have to consider this. I'm used to wearing a watch 24/7 and I miss being able to quickly check my wrist for the time in the night.

I have the nomad stand on order, but am thinking of cancelling it now that I have started using the case to charge my Apple Watch.

Me too. I like his thinking of charging while getting ready. I barely take 30 minutes though.

Why are people putting it on microfiber cloths and stuff? Especially when you have a sport band?

I kinda like the idea too. My morning routine can be longer too. Like my quiet time with coffee. Does the AW track sleep? I don't recall.

It does not track sleep since they planned on you charging over night.

I charge over night, and just leave it on the bedside table for now (until my stand comes in). I don't put anything under it since it's on the charger and the charger is touching the table...or whatever it winds up on.

I have a cloth under mine to protect the bottom casing of the watch.

Interesting. If this works, it gives the Apple watch some time to gather sleep data too. Will have to experiment with finding a similar slot to charge in the day.

I charge mine when it gets low during the day. I charge it on my homemade charging doc, just like this photo.

Griffin WatchStand. Came in today. Also wearing the Spigen Rugged Armor - I love it.

I'm sure there will be apps that will do this. I typically use Sleep Cycle Alarm Clock, but I don't think they have an Apple Watch app yet. I think I might also do the same thing as others and charge it in the morning while I get ready. Would like the sleep tracking, too. Of course, I backed the Sense on Kickstarter and that should arrive in a few days so I probably won't need. Depends on how well the Sense works.

What?

I put the charger on my desk and the watch on the charger. How does putting a cloth under it protect the bottom casing?

Ahh my apology, wasn't thinking there. Out of habit I tend to rest my watches on a cloth to prevent contact with the desk/nightstand, etc.

My neighbor and I made this after looking at many of the different designs here in these forums:
