It is the users prerogative. The user can buy an Android device and have as many battery hogging widgets as they like. The user is free to make that choice.

Quit being a drone already. You're basically saying, "if you want any sort of improvement to the iPhone, buy another device."

I get it. Now stop replying to me with your incessant bullcrap.

What I'm saying is that if you want widgets, you need an Android device. Apple will continue to make improvements to the iPhone, with or without widgets. Apple will continue to release new versions of iOS with new features. I don't see how not having widgets stops that; it hasn't yet.

this is pretty cool- macrumors iphone forum to home screen.

I didn't read the whole thread but I'd have to agree. Widgets do make your life easier. The iPhone feels limited if I can't jailbreak and add certain tweaks to make it more functional.

For example, notification center only shows your calendar appointments that are 24 hours in advanced. I've set mine to show a week in advance so when I swipe down, I can see what I have going on the entire week. Makes life easier.

Quick replying to texts without leaving the application you're in or adjusting your 3G, wifi, bluetooth, etc, with a single swipe.. makes life easier.

I'm sure a lot of people like the camera widget apple implemented on the lockscreen as well.

Or just not use them.

iOS doesn't have widgets though so this is not an option!!! I don't know why people keep saying this. You can't chose to not use something that isn't there in the first place!

I think you're getting confused by people saying they don't want widgets, or have no use for them. That doesn't mean they care whether widgets are on their device, it just means they don't have a want for them. I.e., I don't want widgets. But I couldn't care less if Apple added widgets to iOS. I simply wouldn't use them. But that still means I don't want widgets.

Some social networking widgets are quite handy too, like posting a Facebook/twitter update right from the home screen. They don't use battery when theyre just sitting there if that's their sole purpose either, only while you're actually posting.

If I wanted widgets, I'd buy an android...or jailbreak. Which neither I will do.

I'd like the best of both worlds.. Widgets, iCloud, the apps on the app store, iTunes integration :)

If you don't want to use widgets when/if apple does implement them, you won't have to use them and it won't change the way you do things now.

I think it goes without saying. But we aren't talking about if or buts, we are talking about realities.
