Hey all,

I currently have an iPhone 7. In order to be "upgrade eligible", I need to have paid half my iPhone 7 off, and also hand in my iPhone 7 at the time of upgrade.

I am planning on preordering the iPhone 8 off of Apple's website. How will I do this, if in order to upgrade, I need to hand in my iPhone 7? I'm confused at how that will work. Do I just ship my iPhone 7 to Verizon after I receive the iPhone 8 from Apple?

Thanks.

Why not ask Verizon directly, instead of asking strangers on a forum? With Verizon, you would have gotten your answer in a matter of minutes without having to create a thread.

It seems you already asked this kind of question on June 19, and got many replies.

What I was suggest doing, is go to your local Verizon store directly. Do NOT call their customer service department, as they are highly undertrained and They have no idea what they are talking about. Your device has to have a total of 12 payments before you are allowed to upgrade to the latest device. If You owe any remaining balance, you can pay this on the day you decide to pre-order either over the phone or in a local Verizon store, which then you can preorder

Hmmm, my experience is the exact opposite. In-store sales reps will make any claim they can think of in order to make a sale while phone reps have always been much more thorough and 'honest' with me.

But if I'm not buying anything and it's just questions related to My service plan, It just seems to me the phone representatives have always been lacking knowledge in basic questions or providing wrong information. Maybe it varies, by the actual store staff seem more versed on technical questions. Anything purchase related, I can't comment on how the store staff has attempted to persuade me, as I make most of my purchase online.
