For me the 128GB would be a great enhancement! I currently own an iPhone 5 with 16GB of memory and I always run out because of my photo library. On the other side I don't like to delete pictures as I really like to have them with me..

Just curious how those who want a 128 GB iPhone would use the space based on their current and planned usage.

For me personally, half of it would be used for ALAC music files. Then I'd keep many of my files on iCloud Drive, which, when cached on the device, would take up probably 5–10 GB. Then another 10 GB for photos, messages, and "Other". And lastly, about 10 GB for apps and games.

I would download my music on Google Play (around 5gb) and my iTunes Movie collection.

128gb=less dependency on redownloading songs

I have over 60gb of music and another 20GB of images. Cant get it on my currect phone but will soon if they have a 128GB phone coming.

and before it is asked, I CHOOSE to have it on my phone if it will hold it!

NO CLOUD FOR ME!

Living where there is unreliable cell service, almost no 4g consistently, and live in an area where broadband is satellite which means limited monthly throughput, it's the best news I've heard. I agree No Cloud for me, except where necessary.
:)

Well I have 40GB of photos, I would like to keep them all on my phone, 5GB of music, and about 10GB of documents (pdfs of textbooks, books, and all of my old documents). Plus any apps and the OS would be putting me close to the 64GB line. Im one to prefer having extra space in my device just in case I need it, and also Im minimalist and like having few devices with my data (i.e. just the phone). This would pretty much eliminate my need for a personal computing system (assuming there is the 5.5" iPhone with 128GB of storage - otherwise Id just get the 16GB version and keep everything on my computer, which I don't like)

Yep, I do not want to depend on the cloud for my music or photos. My cellular iPad Air is 128GB and I have over 75GB of music, photo, etc.

Hope there is a 128GB option!

I wouldn't. That's way overkill for me for a phone. A tablet I would fill up with shows and movies, but even a 5.5 inch phone seems a bit small for me to watch hours of media on. I'm not a big mobile gamer, and my music and photo collections aren't nearly that big.

I'm okay with 16GB now, but my next phone will probably be 32.

I guess you're not getting the next iPhone?

Music. I'd turn off the "downsample to 192 kbps" setting in iTunes music I sync to my phone, then I guess I'd go to Spotify and mark a LOT of music for offline sync.

Besides that? Probably just shoot a bunch more crappy videos and forget to delete them until I inevitably fill 128 GB...

I'm undecided actually. I have a 5s and I don't usually upgrade devices every year. The only reason I'm even considering it is because a family member would give me her upgrade in exchange for my phone.

But if you're referring to the rumour about them dropping the 32GB models, my understanding is that the 64GB would come at the same price point, so obviously I'd take extra free storage even if I don't need it.

Entire music collection. I may also sell the iPad mini and just consolidate since my phone and ipad are both 64 gb each

Yes, I was just joking about the rumours.

I'm also looking forward to a 64 GB upgrade.

I wouldn't. Why does everyone want 128gb especially in the era of streaming services becoming much more popular.

If you're not around wifi -- and don't have an unlimited data plan -- then streaming music and video gets expensive very quickly. Not everyone lives under your exact circumstances. ;)

If music starts going the route of High Definition, we'll use more space there. If the camera has a significant MP upgrade, we'll use more space there.

At the current configurations, 64GB is almost double what I need, but down the road, who knows yet?

I would say the vast majority of people are around WiFi all the time. Obviously not every single person is under the exact same circumstance. ;)

I am going on a couple of overseas trips and would like to load all music and a few videos. I'd also like to use the camera for tons of pics and video and don't want to rely on iCloud across the pond.

Besides, with 240fps, some of the videos could get quite large in a hurry.

If I ever started recording lots of video on my phone, 128 gigs might be useful.
When did the carriers start offering free, unlimited data plans? I must have missed that.

Well T-Mobile doesn't count music services like iTunes streaming/radio against your data usage.

Pics and videos that I take. I have a 64 GB iPhone 5 right now and it only has 8 GB free. I was so happy to see the 128, it means I can be lazy about cleaning my phone out for a while. ;D

I always get the most memory iPhone. What mostly fills my iPhone up is music. I can't fit it anymore on my 64gb phone. I have iTunes Match but that Apple service is really unreliable. Not all music matches and if you have explicit music sometimes it will give you the clean version instead. Plus I don't get signal everywhere like at my gym (Specially cardio area!). So I ordered my 128GB. Now I can load all my music and photos. How could you not want all your photos on your phone now when you have a beautiful huge screen!?!

I think 128GB is worth it for me but 64 isn't bad at all for the price. Actually 64GB version should be selling the most, perfect memory size for most people IMO.

Apple should just stop with the 16GB. I think it could limit app purchases because customer can run out of space quick. 32 should be the starting memory size.

I've needed 128gb since before 64gb was even available, as I have over 50gb in music. I've had to heavily manage that over the years, but now I can finally let it go for a bit.

The 16 gig basically exists to make the 64 gig look like a better investment. 'Same reason Sony and Microsoft sell console SKUs with barely any memory. They make a profit either way of course, but the margin is higher for the larger capacity model.
