I had the Nokia face off when I was 10 I'm 22 now, at that time I was the most privileged kid in my area, I was still wearing diadora trainers which were bright yellow lol never owned anything fashionly branded til I was 15, now I have 2 wardrobes full of stuff that I have taken very good care of, on the other hand my Sis who is now 15 has had 8 phones over 4 years , I never gOt anything like that from my mum, there's 8 phones coz she's either lost them Or broken them, she also has lots of fashion brands and expects them like nothing, I would have dreamed of a pair of nike'ys when I was her age but the lesson is don't give in, if the child wants it they have to earn it, once they appreciate value of items then they may have a gift, the problem with kids today is that they want want want, and don't want to give give give. Parents give in to children's demands due to peer pressure, however parents think they must have their child kitted with the best stuff therefore creating a commercial monster child leading to all sorts of problems, if my child wanted something that I'm my eyes was commercially valuable then they should earn it no matter the age! My only ever gift was a Nokia face off which was a surprise but a reward for me helping my mum a lot due to an illness. Remember your child learns the way of life from you, if you want a decent child do them a favour and teach them to work for things and I don't mean 2 weeks of chores then bang theres your iPhone
That's my rant over and out .
