Just an update, but watching Bad Grandpa in 1080p on this bad boy without an issue.

Loving it!

Just wanted to thank everyone that has helped me get this far with this machine!

I have an iBook G3 on the way that I plan on putting 10.4 on as well.

I may have some questions there as well :D

Were you able to find all the software you wanted off of that list? I may be able to give links if you cannot find them!

I think I got just about all of it. Still looking for a decent copy of Aperture 2 but haven't gotten around to it yet.

I currently have Lightroom 2, CS2 Suite, TenFourFox, Office 2008 and MacTubes.

I can't think of anything else that I could really want at this point. Any other suggestions that are related to those types? The video/photo editing types?

I'm looking for Final Cut Pro too but idk what version will work with PPC.

Out of memory, FCP 6 is the highest supported version. However, there are ways to get FCP 7 running on there. You can download a copy of GIMP if you want a free photo editor to supplement CS2. Since you are using MacTubes and TenFourFox, give MacTubes Enabler a shot. Also in MacTubes go to Preferences ---> Video Player ---> QuickTime.

I should be set with Photoshop, which is good because I'm more familiar with Photoshop and Gimp has some different ways that can get confusing when bouncing between the two lol

Is MacTubes enabler basically enabling Youtube on TenFourFox? I had tried to get it before but was having install issues. Looking at it again, it downloads as a .xpi file and I have nothing to open that.

Also, change MacTubes to Quicktime :D

You drag MacTubes Enabler into a window of TenFourFox. Changing MacTubes to QuickTime prevents it from using Flash, which is what you want to avoid. Once MacTubes Enabler is installed, fire up a YouTube Video and right click. There will be a open in MacTubes button and if you select that it will fire up using QuickTime format within MacTubes.

Ahh gotcha, that makes sense then. I'll look further into it!

With CS2 it has those old school icons, do you know if there's a way that I can change the icons themselves to match Lightroom?

Sure! Go to Google and choose the best resolution of the icon you want to replace the old with. 512*512 is a good resolution. Download it (Right Click, Save Image). You should now have a PNG file of the icon with no background.

Now go to the app you want to change. Right click and hit "Get Info". Go back to that Preview window with the icon open and hit CMD A, then CMD C. Back in the Get Info of the app there will be tiny thumbnail at the top, click it. It will highlight in blue then hit CMD V. You may need to open the app for the new icon to take effect in the Dock.

Do you know of any issues with this happening and I copy the icon on and it just puts an 'empty' png icon there? That is what I'm having happen right now both in the preview and on the dock

I am not aware of any issues with this method. In fact I just changed it on an app on my Dock. Try doing it to another app aside from Adobe to test it!

I have no other apps that I would like to change :p

Maybe I'll change mactubes to a youtube sign. I'm having a hard time figuring how to get it back to the default icon now tho :p

Some people do not know how to ship things. Very few people still have boxes to the machines they are selling, so there is a larger chance of shipping damage. Filing for a damage claim is probably your best bet.

Wow man, I'm sorry to hear!

Who was your seller? It sounded to me like a single item that the seller was selling but he could have sold more.

I was reimbursed for my Hard Drive/damage and kept the machine, put a 500GB hard drive in it and just kept it.

Let me know what you find out.

That's for sure.. Seems as if the original boxes are the only way to ship these days.
