A-ok

Mine is fine with a case but my friends have cracked glass front and back from 16 inch falls.

Glass is indestructible.

SGP kit (front, back, sides) only. Carrying in a timbuk2 pouch or sfbags suede jacket and using it w/o case. I had bumper and it was OK, but I didn't like covering up the device's beauty.

The phone looks perfect and I guess I just have to be extra careful not to drop or scratch the camera lens covering glass.

Wonderfully!
The fingerprint magnet-ness sucks though; I just ordered a suede jacket from sfbags too primarily for a little more scratch protection + cleaning power.

I baby the hell out of mine and still managed to scratch the back glass. No clue how it happened.

It's still better than the original iPhone or 3G with non-oleophobic screen, but wearing it in the jeans/pants pocket makes it pretty much self-cleaning. My wife's iPhone 4, on the other hand, gets a lot more smudges due to the fact that it always goes in a purse with nothing to clean the screen.

You know, the only reason I think I need a case is just to make it easier to hold on to. I wonder what it will look like in a year after I throw it in my camel back and go cycling with it, put it in the tank bag of my motorcycle and just generally use it. I guess it will look like it has been used and I think a tool that looks like it has been used is kind of cool.

Do you wear a wedding ring? I noticed the same thing, and couldn't figure out what happened.... I've been so careful with it... And I noticed the scratches on day 2.... Somehow my wife realized the scratches lined up with my ring when I hold it. I've been much more careful of that now, but I won't be using a case, bumper, screen film... It's just too pretty... I've got insurance on mine, just for that reason. I treat it like any other phone. Scratches are very minimal, and barely noticeable.

I haven't even taken off the plastic from the factory. Well, I haven't but friends always do when messing with it so now the film on the front and back looks pretty grainy but at least there are no scratches.

You should really get rid of that film if its looking grainy, the grains are tiny bits of dust or grit and by squashing them between the plastic and the screen your going to get scratches, like a a bit of fine snadpaper.
