Seeing as again I own nothing but Apple products but still refuse to call every single Apple competitor evil, and work in an exchange environment that I accept with open arms, it would be plausible to say that I am a bit more unbiased, open minded, and experienced in the technology.

We kinda need more people like you :)

Maybe they don't want to be poor, but at least HP's products are something they can afford. Better to have that "crappy computer" than none at all right? My Aunt bought an HP because she knew no better and because she probably knew that brand from work. It wasn't a stunning machine at all, and I hated the fact that it had a non-standard power connector so I couldn't put a non-HP branded motherboard in the case. The thing is still working today though. It has given more than its fair share of service. I should mention that it's a Pentium 4.

A Pentium 4 laptop!? That brings up awful memories :(

Your second quote just shows that the only fire power you have to throw at people are stupid comments that have no relevance to the topic at hand. I said I work in an HP/Apple house. Meaning we purchase exclusively with HP and Apple. I never said I work on the HP's because I don't. I manage, design, and QA our Apple Infrastructure (which I designed). I am an Apple Infrastructure Engineer. I have no idea why you keep blasting me for what my job title is. Maybe its because in your mind I can't be Apple anything because I am not a blind sheep that follows Lord Jobs at will.

Lord Jobs, huh?

So, your claims of being unbiased, and open minded mean what, exactly?

It means "Hey guys, I own Apple stuff so I'm not a troll."

Of course he started his MacRumors commenting experience last year like this:

Its sad because the fan boys who cry for Apple to do better or do more don't realize there own ignorance is why Apple could take a piece of dog crap and put an Apple logo on it. The fan boys will defend its perfection until there death bed.

Nope, no evident bias there! (And more strawmen! Huzzah!)

Yeah its quite annoying. Also funny to hear people complaining or thinking you're a 'faker' for "defending HP products on a Mac site."
The blasphemy  Why not???

Its not called Macfans' Rumors, or Macfanatics Rumors, just Mac Rumors. Theres a lot of people into tech, and Apple put out some good products. So you should not be surprised to see people that dont think Steve Jobs walks on water but like their MBs/ iphones and like to check up/comment on some news. And support other vendors. And dont feel that Apple should (shock) "crush" all competitors. I personally like having multiple Good vendors. All apple is just boring.

You can tell this news has ruffled the feathers of all these slagging off HP and announcing impending doom:

Apple 'step on HP'?? Like theyve done in the PC market with their Macbooks right?

All this 'headless chicken' talk of HP is ridiculous, like WTF stupid, according to some sources they made over 9 Billion NET in 2009, more than Apple. Theyre a huge company you dont turn those figures with 365000 employees if you dont know what youre doing.
And I think a quick check will show that they made some pretty massive acquisitions last year on top of that.

Hopefully WebOS will do really well out of this, it doesnt even need to take long for new hardware to come out, HP could have some prototypes lying around that would be prefect. They must have a few more slate models in the pipeline as well. And HP are definitely capable of putting out some attractive hardware. Hopefully HP is listening to the critiques re the hardware of Palm.

I'd never really taken a look at WebOS I must admit, just quickly dismissed cause of all the 'iphone-killer' talk, but it looks amazing  Good on HP now they can seriously differentiate themselves.

Funny thing is I see all of these posts about the iPad and how amazing it is etc.

I actually own one how about you guys ;)

Steve Jobs is a douche bag. Doesn't mean I don't like Apple. Anything negative I have about Apple is the direction in which they are going. They are leaving the computer industry and going into this "AppStore/Ad/iPhone/iPad" direction that I personally don't like. Apple is moving resources and importance away from the technology that made people believers. Thats my gripe. I have a Mac Pro 2.66 Quad I am on right now, a Unibody Alum with an SSD at home, an iPad, an iPhone (that I received as an employee at Apple), and a Mac Mini. The only PC in my house, is my gf's Dell which will be going away once I give her my Powerbook G4 1.67. See as you may but the problems here is that you are either All Apple or a Paid Microsoft Employee/Disgruntled Former Apple Employee. No middle ground. I think there are a lot of people like me who like Apple products but don't generally agree on the recent changes and direction. I have seen them here and they get the same useless responses.

And Lagunasol confusing my job title as potentially being an Apple employee. Again read it, it says I am an Apple Infrastructure Engineer, not an Infrastructure Engineer at Apple. My Job title is what it is, does it make you sad that a non believer gets paid to support the product by which pumps the blood through your veins.

Sure, your entitled to your opinion, but playing the unbiased card?

I own an HP laptop (dead) and several HP laser printers (paper jam express). Surely, by your benchmark, I'm entitled to call the majority of HP products poor in quality, 'mediocre' at best.

As for your self-proclaimed title, yes, I do find it misleading.

Then again, what the hey?

*sent from my iPad

Uh huh. I suppose that makes Steve Ballmer:

CEO at Microsoft

not

Microsoft CEO

We were arguing that HP makes cheap crap. Our argument at any point did not mention people with a lack of funds until you came in.

That 'argument' is a moot point at best. And invalid as well. Every manufacturer in the universe makes 'cheap crap' unless the badge reads Apple. And apart from the fact that Apple doesn't make but designs, these 'discussions' are laughable. But hey, this IS a Mac (Apple) forum so infidels are not welcome here  Let the name calling begin ;)

[/SIZE][/I]

Its not self proclaimed its my title as handed down to me by my employer.

I'm sure you've addressed this, but why even list your title? I don't see anyone else doing it. If your point in listing it is to somehow give validity to anti-Apple sentiments, I don't think it's necessary, nor do I think it really accomplishes that goal any more than a racist saying "but some of my best friends are [insert minority here]." Your words either stand or fall on their own.

I'm sure that's why you removed you're job title recently? I'm not anti Apple, I just don't agree with everything they have done.

I believe that HP can make good use of the resources that Palm can provide.
I would say it's the other way around, Palm can now market itself and develop their hardware to a much higher level because of the resources and ca$h flow HP can provide. I just hope HP doesn't screw up WebOS, because unlike most other mobile OS's besides the iPhone OS, it actually looks innovative and great to use.

I would have to disagree. If we're talking computing manufacturers I would kindly point you to Sun(Oracle) or IBM.

After 13 pages of argument it looks like more of discussion for and against Apple rather than discussion about how HP+Palm could bring better products to market which in turn makes Apple to work harder to cater its customers. I've used Palm Pre and iPod Touch and can tell you that there is one company that can tell you that Web OS provides much better user experience, it is unfortunate that they could not market their product properly.

my 2 cents

I just hope HP actually helps Palm, instead of choking it like it did with Vodoo. I like webOS, but Palm needs new hardware fast. That's where I'm hoping HP's money will help. I'd love to see more options in hardware, maybe licensing webOS to HTC and Sony. Android's looking better everyday, and webOS is still not out of the grave.
