the competition still need another year to catch up to apple IMO, it took a few years to catch up in the smart phone business, and now android is arguably top dog, or apple's equal. ( android, or should i say phones with android on, are currently far above the iphone 4 but iphone 5 should catch up/over take).

I'm loving the look and potential of some of these tablets coming out, xoom, galaxy tab, playbook etc.

but they need polishing up, and more tablet applications and fix some of the small glitches and bugs.

in a years time though, once they have got some insight and experience, you can see the competition in the tablet industry will mirror that of the mobile industry.

let's not forget apple has been in the "new generation" of tablets, a year longer than anyone else.

I just tried Citrix app and because of the card workflow of webOS you can have multiple documents or desktop programs open at the same time as they stack all together. I don't think this is possible on any other device that has Citrix Reciever.

Being able to have a YouTube video playing in a reduced window while checking the weather is eye candy - which is fine, but I don't see how this 'helps' anybody. I'm open to arguments.

Using that metric, yes, but consider my situation: where I live, I cannot get even .5Mbps, so watching video at anywhere near streaming rate for decent quality is simply out of the question. On my computer, I can just start loading the video and go look at pages or work on some coding while I wait for an adequate buffer to allow me to watch at least part of the video. On the iPad or iPod, this is not an option. If I want to buffer video, I can start it, lay down the iPad and go chop some onions or rake the driveway, but the iPad itself cannot be used for anything else. This is where decent multitasking would immensely improve the experience (though it probably would benefit me o rake leaves or chop vegetables instead of looking at a 10" screen).

I used the HP TouchPad for the first time today. It is feels heavier than the iPad2. I used it for approximately 15 minutes and it crashed once during that time. The Web OS is very nice but it needs some refinement in my opinion.

I love the integration of the iPad2 with my other Apple devices. The TouchPad is not very strong competition for the iPad. I am more impressed with the Samsung Galaxy.
