How are they giving away prize money? Ads, user data selling off?

Started with what is likely angel funds, but lately they have done sponsored shows. Example, there was an episode sponsored by Ocean's 8 and the questions were related to the movie series and cast. Another time was Ready Player One and the questioned were about the movie and the 80s, and the prize pool was like 200k or something.

Flaky how? Lots of generic bitching on these boards of late with no real details.

The touchpad and even the buttons are way too sensitive. Always accidentally touching the trackpad and buttons or over or under shooting selections. You think you are tapping to go right and it thinks you are tapping right and then down etc. Even the physical design itself was poorly thought out as in a darkly lit room, where many people like watching TV, it is hard to distinguish up or down when going to pick it up (which again causes accidentally doing something with the touchpad). They improved it slightly with the 4k remote at least by putting a raised white circle around the menu button, but doesn't help those who already bought the previous version.

My parents (67+) absolutely hated it, eventually gave up and switched them to a Roku with physical buttons they could easily feel and see without always accidentally hitting something.

Played last night on my Apple TV for the first time this year. Seemed a lot more steady than last year.

The UI needs some work... the video stream seems to have the same dimensions as on iOS. Once the game actually begins and it has the video on the left and everything else on the right it looks good, but during the pre-game portion it just had the video centered on the screen... actually looked worse than just using AirPlay to project from my iPhone to the Apple TV.

Made it to Q8. Shoot. I was so close to being the 1500th winner in a $5K jackpot. Could have been $3 richer. But, you know, it's just a game, and it's fun. And you might win a little bit of money if you do well enough.

I should preface by saying that I have the 4K version and that is the only one I have ever owned. I personally like how sensitive the trackpad is. It is great for quickly navigating menus. However, I will agree that sometimes a person is prone to pick up the remote from the wrong end in the dark. But I really don't think that is a showstopper type of thing to overcome. If you attempt to click and it doesn't depress then you know you have the wrong end pointing to the TV.

I could see where someone at advanced age with limited technical savvy or patience may not like the remote because it is a huge departure from the standard TV or cable remote. But for anyone other than a grey-hair, I think everything that an AppleTV offers (especially if you have other devices in the Apple ecosystem) makes it more than worth adapting to a new styled remote. Currently, I only pair it with my phone and TV but it already is a huge addition to my entertainment needs and by cutting the cord and going with DirectTV Now it will pay for itself in just a few more months.
