720p/1080p screens in a 5.5" form factor?? THE AUDACITY. Nothing less than 8K will suffice on mobile devices these days. /s

First off, is your "?" character broken? I had to read your post 3x just to decipher it.

Now, as for the screen being low-density.... you're joking, right? It's still a Retina display, so your eyes can't see the individual pixels. Go higher-density won't make any difference. Apple *did* improve upon the display dramatically by introducing Wide Colour Gamut, and it's been rated the best mobile LCD on the market.

As for 2GB of AM, seriously? Adding RAM is innovative? No... making the operating system run well with less memory (compared to Android, etc.) is innovative, as that involves creative engineering and very close attention to detail. They have delivered that year after year.
Hahaha my eye's can't see the pixels:mad: specially on latest iPhone SE display i use (can't tell about iPhone 7 not purchased yet) isn't it time for 2k amoled display you think!! Now decipher it

Everyone excluding you.

The number of people on this site alone that ordered the iPhone 7 or 7 Plus proves your statement false. No worries though. Stick with what you are comfortable with. My grandpa still has a VCR and loves it.

I have always thought that HTC had the best designs outside of Apple. This time, however, the design seem ironic. They took what people hated about the 6S (the antenna bands) and made it a design emphasis. They did a good job of it, probably better than Apple, but they are a year too late. Apple has moved on to eliminate the lines and my black 7 looks really good. However, I would trade it in for a dark blue one in an instant. Of course none of this speaks to build quality or the OS. All I am saying is that from an aesthetics perspective, this phone competes really well with the 6 and 6S.

Who the **** cares what you say, seems like you like the bundle of wires which apple provide in the box, "outdated" what about ips lcd which apple uses in their iPhone isn't it outdated. Low pixel density isn't it outdated.2 gb ram isn't it outdated which apple should have improved rather than removing headphone Jack
If you're a specs whore, go buy a Samsung!!!
If you want to actually speak from a point of knowledge, not ignorance-read the VERY insightful article about the iPhone 7 display.
I can sum it up for you:
The iPhone 7 display sets records in almost EVERY display category!!! From brightness, clarity under ambient light, low reflectivity, etc.
This is from THE premier expert in the display field, Ray Soneira- over at displaymate.
He actually REALLY knows what he's talking about!!!!!
He lauded the screen..... sung it praises.... & MOST importantly; backed it all up w/ solid, real, mathematical (measured) evidence.
He used the word "outdated" ZERO times.
You are simply wrong.
The screen is very, very, very, very nice & absolutely cutting-edge.

I've always been a fan of HTC's industrial design, but this... I'm less sure of. I'd have to see it in person, though.

have i touched a nerve

have i touched a nerve

Lol, were you trying to??
Is that what excites you??
Making up lies and saying foolish things to others on the internet TRYING to frustrate others???
I hope not!
That is NOT what I thought of you (until your very, very strange reply to me)... I honestly assumed that you simply didn't have the truthful, honest, PROVABLE, scientifically accurate information about the incredibly superlative high quality of Apple's latest screens, so I thought I'd share!! =)
That is FRIENDLY.
So, a gleeful comment from you- excited that you may have "touched a nerve", makes me quite sad & sorry for you.
I would genuinely LOVE to have a real conversation.
I don't even know you... so why you think it would "touch a nerve" if you believe & repeat misinformation is a mystery to me.
You can go through life believing ANYTHING you want!!!
I don't care if you wear your underpants as a necklace, drink bowls of curdled milk, etc... absolutely anything as zany & silly as you want!
But......... if you are on a forum that I participate in, talking about the health benefits or fashion of those- I'd be within my rights to politely let you know that's absurd, right??
And it wouldn't be because you "touched a nerve"... it would be because the purpose of most forums is to share facts & opinions.
Well, in this case- it is a FACT that the iPhone 7 screen is packed full of amazing/standout features, as confirmed by the leading world expert.
That stands in blatant contradiction to your OPINION that it is outdated.

I hope that all makes sense!
Please feel free to reply, but if you don't mind: I'd appreciate it if you say at least a single thing about tech, since this is what our forum is about- rather than trying to rather randomly & oddly guess at whether I ascribed an emotional state to a very logical & informative reply post.

Thank you in advance.

They should offer it with different trim - not everybody likes gold. Being able to independently select glass, back and trim colours would be best.

I wish Apple would let you pick and mix your colours too - ever since they started doing white I've wished I could keep the old silver metal with black glass, but I'm forced to take white glass if I don't want black metal.

Fortunately the shiny black is clearly the best choice this year so :)

I respect HTC, of the Android manufacturers... I honestly felt that the iPhone 6 looked quite a bit like the M7, which came 1st- so was NOT derivative, like a Samsung. I wish on the new one they would've kept the camera in the middle- that gave it its own unique style vs. Apple.
Android is not my cup of tea, but that phone does look quite nice!

Some MacRumors readers may remember HTC was forced to deny claims last year that the company's flagship One A9 copied the iPhone.

HTC had my respect until this happened. Then no more.

Apple and HTC have a cross licensing agreement. This is why no action was taken by Apple. Additionally, the antenna bands on the 6/6S iPhones are licensed *from* HTC. This is also why the HTC 10 is the only Android phone that supports AirPlay.

See my above comment t as reason for this. Folks may remember, HTC was one of the first to extend an olive branch in a cessation of the patent lawsuit wars. They approached Apple and hashed out a cross-licensing agreement and soon the other makers were following suit as those lawsuits were turning into scorch-the-earth situations

Thanks for advice :D where i said anything about iPhone 7 display you can read my above post,i said i haven't purchased iPhone 7 yet to say anything about, i am using iPhone SE now and what information you want to provide here to me i have readen thanks,i am watching unboxing videos and reviews on YouTube from launch day,The iPhone 7 may have the best ips lcd ever made but it's not the future you will see, they will adopt oled screen maybe next year, to each their own for me it feels little bit outdated and lagging behind in the competition(specially iPhone SE which i use currently),No matter how much better they can make a lcd display the oled display still have some advantages over the lcd display

This is what i am reading

I agree with what your saying about the iPhone 7. I think the display is much improved over the 6s. And the contrast and brightness is very good.

I absolutely love my new silver iPhone 7. Its better than my 6s in a lot of categories. My Gold 5.5 iPhone 7 Plus will be arriving soon.

By the way, Are you aware having multiple accounts on MacRumors is against forum rules. Your other username is @J&D. I believe this is an instantly bannable offense from my understanding, which will also get you blacklisted from this website. I think a moderator should be aware of this.

And as far as @Sunnysunnysingh goes, he argues and fabricates things to start an argument or to cause a rift. Just add him to your 'Ignore' list.

Yeah... my only 2 nit picks are:
I absolutely LOVE my screen on my iPad Pro 9.7" & would've loved that much lower reflectivity rating on my iPhone 7... & also the sensors that allow it to dynamically change the warmth in response to the color conditions of your lighting.
Those two features are HOT, HOT, HOT!!!! =)

I have the iPad Air 2 now and I have a gift card to use, which I plan on using for a 9.7 Pro. The Tru-Tone and quad speakers are selling points for me.

There was no reason to lose respect for HTC. Instead you should be mad at anyone who claims HTC copied Apple.
Apple and HTC have a cross licensing agreement. This is why no action was taken by Apple. Additionally, the antenna bands on the 6/6S iPhones are licensed *from* HTC. This is also why the HTC 10 is the only Android phone that supports AirPlay.

This. Whether Apple used it or not, they had access to HTC's full body antenna technology via a patent cross-license.

HTC was the first by far to come out with an all aluminum body, using their own research into constantly fine-tuning antennas while being held. (See AnandTech's first review with background tech details: http://www.anandtech.com/show/6747/htc-one-review)

Apple didn't bring out a similar all aluminum device (which had insulator bands very much like HTC) until 18 months later.

Astute observers will also note that while HTC has publicly stated that Apple copied their design, Apple has never denied it, nor did they invoke their right to sue HTC under the same cross license agreement if HTC ever copied the iPhone.

I've always been a fan of HTC's industrial design, but this... I'm less sure of. I'd have to see it in person, though.

In person, people seem to like it. Reviews say they are slightly overpriced mid-range phones, so the extra style is there to help sell them.

What makes this related to Art Deco? Gold lines?

Yeah, my first thought too. For Art Deco, most people expect a few more lines :)

art-deco-logo.jpg

Still, here's an old Art Deco cigarette case with similar minimal decoration:

art-deco-cigar-case2.jpg

In any case, as the lead article title notes, HTC said only that the design was inspired by Art Deco. It was not meant to actually be taken as such. (Similar to the way that Jobs commented about the iPhone 4 reminding him of an old Leica.)
