Yeah...Xiaomi did the same thing for awhile, and then petered out. I don't see much different happening here in the long run. It's still just another Android OEM.

Agree with the comment on Xiaomi, but this just doesn't apply to Huawei. They had $35bn in sales last year and the vast majority of that was in traditional telecoms and IT equipment (i.e the kit that actually runs mobile and IT networks). Handset sales are relatively new for them and I suspect they will take 2nd spot a lot sooner than most people think. Take a look at your carrier-branded 'droid handset or your wifi hotspot device - chances are it's made by Huawei......
 
I think Huawei is going to over take Samsung in the coming months. If they can make nice phones, with a great interface (without bloat), they may have a chance. It was only a few months since their name has become known. I never knew of them before.

We shall see what happens.
