This isn't directed at you, but that's ridiculous. It's unacceptable that there isn't a way to get edited photos from your iPhone to your computer, especially if you own an apple Mac.

EDIT: and what about people that don't have a mac?

email it. Problem solved. ;)

As the page you linked states, this is Expected Behavior. In other words, it is not a bug according to Apple, but is by design.

And, its garbage. At least offer the choice on import - original, edited or all.

I understand it's "Expected", but still leaving feedback at least lets them know it's idiotic behavior!

Yes, a clumsy kludge is always a good way to circumvent an efficient workflow changed arbitrarily.

lol funny thing is, if you enable icloud photo library, it gets uploaded with the edits but you have no access to the original at all (nor even the photo in its original resolution). what a mess.

And on top of all of it, I'm not seeing the Dropbox share extension any more! What about you guys?

To the above poster, Dropbox automatic upload WILL NOT upload edited photos, only the original.

I'm on 8.1 and just edited/altered pics using the Camera+ app. Both the altered and original photos uploaded to my Dropbox just fine. Note that I had already uploaded the originals earlier in the morning and the edited versions a couple of hours later. None the less, both are in my Dropbox.

Also, I have been using this solution for a couple of years and it works very well. I have Dropbox installed on but of my desktops (Windows at work and OSX at home) and access pictures from my phone with relative ease.

Sorry. I need to be clearer. I mean edited pictures that you edit from WITHIN the photos app.

I'm on a bit of a rant on this one, so I hope you'll forgive me.

Apple has baked some fantastic photo editing features into each iteration of the iPhone. With iOS 8, they are absolutely fantastic, easy to use, and fun.

However, if you edit a photo on your iOS device, there is no easy way to get that edited photo to your computer, which makes NO SENSE!

For example, if I take a picture and then do something simple to it, like crop it, and then save that edited photo, everything's great. However, if I plug my iPhone into my computer and launch image capture, Aperture or iPhoto to import that picture, I only see the ORIGINAL!

I love the idea of non-destructive edits, but the whole point of editing is completely moot if we can't get the pictures onto our computers!!!!

I don't understand how/why this hasn't been more widely talked about, as I would think this is a huge oversight ... ?

Yeah, I agree and didn't know why, so I emailed the author a question about my photo app and he said that Apple won't allow that. Go figure.

Dropbox is not a selectable destination in photos share sheet. So there is no solution other than individually emailing photos or enabling photo cloud. Both of which are ridiculous.

That's disappointing about Dropbox.

This sounds more like Apple is deliberately storing the photos in an alternate "folder" that it is not allowing developer apps access to.

Question: can you access the edited photo from an app such as CameraBag?

I left feedback, but the issue is that it very greatly limits how many words you can type ..

Does anyone have access to a developer of "repute" that can speak on our behalf on this? It is RIDICULOUS that apple purposefully made this a "feature."
