$40 for a network available on OTA? They must be drunk when will CBS/Viacom learn that OTA networks people will not pay for them I guess NBC understands customers sort of.

"Under $40" reads to me as $39.99 a month."

Hopefully, more than that, but i guess networks will only agree if u have it as an addon only which u pay for...

Really netwoks don't wanna include anything, without getting their money's worth back in return. However it may be ok just for one month just to 'test'

I want commercial free, on demand; with the most current content. Whichever service does that the best will win me over. It is very hard for me to make myself available for live tv. I am trying directv now at the moment but I don't think I will keep it because of the lack of on demand. If hulu integrates those upcoming channels into their current on demand, commercial free system, they are gonna win me over big time.

The current deal includes user access to CBS Sports Network and Pop, a pop culture focused network, with the potential for more CBS networks -- like CBS's Smithsonian Channel and The CW -- to be added down the line.

LOL. They're going to add something we already get for free? How generous of them.

Maybe someday CBS will come to more realistic views on what their content is worth. When that happens I will be happy to see them appear on Hulu, were the other networks already are.

Unless I am misunderstanding the service, why would I pay $40/month for CBS and it's affiliates (I'm guessing 10 or so channels) when I pay $75 for hundreds of channels on plain old cable tv (with a DVR)? Our 60Mbit internet/phone/cable costs me $160 total each month...we use the cable tv literally a few hours a year for things like a few football games and 60 Minutes...we use at most 2 hours a week using the tv for things like Amazon and Netflix streaming.

I wish I could cut out cable tv simply because we so rarely use it...but I believe my cable company basically will force me to stay with the 3-package by "unbundling" cable and doing a la carte and end up paying $140 vs $160. And even if I did cut out cable tv, As a working parent of 3 kids under 7, I really don't have time to bogged down researching/buying/subscribing to other services that end up being $6/month cheaper than my cable service. Although I am super technical and in my mid 40s, I guess I am turning into my dad. :)

Missing a lot... it's a live TV service that ALSO includes CBS. If true, it would be the first service to include CBS outside of their own standalone service.

Hulu is owned by Fox, NBC (Comcast), ABC (Disney) and Time Warner (HBO, TNT, TBS, CNN)... so they're already in. This could be the service that changes everything, since as owners, they could in theory take less (or provide for free) for their channels since they split the subscription fee itself, leaving more of the pot to get contracts with other companies like Scripps, Viacom, etc.

Got it. Thanks. Slightly more compelling.

I'm getting CBS (and PBS, NBC, Fox, ABC, etc) for free with my TabloTV and I get DVR too. I did have to buy the device and subscribe to the guide service (which I did with a single lifetime payment). Now I've added DirecTV Now and I really have all I need. CBS trying to be exclusive is a joke to me.

Doesn't work for people who can't over-the-air channels because of poor reception.

I guess I just don't get it. Frankly I'd much rather see them negotiate a deal to add CBS to regular Hulu. Right now they have all the other broadcast networks other than CW which now has their own free app.

I get live TV from broadcast networks for free. Old school antenna.

We tried but can't get most stations anymore since they went digital. Signal just isn't nearly as strong as the old analog stations here.
