I have Hulu Plus on my PS3...and wow. It is pretty slick! Much better interface than netflix. Its quick and it will allow you to watch a show and still search for another one.

We all know that Hulu plus is gonna come to the Apple TV....its already on the other iOS devices! Its just a matter of time.

Oh on Hulu Plus you can get full seasons on shows...current TV shows...

Its looks HD to me...at least on the PS3.

Oh by the way the difference between HULU and HULU plus is that HULU plus is 720p HD. HULU is 480p SD.

I just checked on the internet.

$10/mo plus ads? forget it. I'll keep my cable at $60 + ads. ...wait a second...

Exactly.

I really don't understand how many people just don't get it. Many already pay large amounts of money for cable/satellite with way more ads shoved in your face.

$10 a month but having to sit through some ads really isn't all that bad.

Netflix HD sucks. I only use Netfilx streaming on my iPad. Without 5.1, that's like missing half of the experience. I can only imaging that Hulu + would be the same.

I used the Hulu app on a MacBook attached to my TV. I upped my DSL to 6.0 just for Hulu and 480p still stuttered and skipped. Actually, it did it at 360p as well.

Until there is sufficient broadband for good HD, then I will stick to my Dish Network DVR and Blu-ray. Blu-ray is the only way to get good quality HD. I don't mind paying for quality.

Just to let people know, the shows that are available on regular Hulu (watching for free from your computer) are mostly NOT available on Hulu Plus.

Hulu Plus is still in Beta. I eventually expect that all the shows on Hulu will migrate to Hulu Plus and that Hulu will disappear.

In any case, I would never get Hulu Plus before getting Netflix.

Streaming quality will never be as good as your Dish or Blu-ray. It is however much cheaper and many people will go that route.

A DVR lets you fast forward through ads, though I suppose it takes almost as long to do that as a single ad on Hulu.

I just think the slection on Hulu Plus is really lacking. Doesn't include It's Always Sunny, How I Met Your Mother, Chuck, The Community or Burn Notice (just to name a few that I personally want). There are only like a couple of shows that I would want to watch on there but they are all shows I am not currently watching.
Get all of the shows on there and I would be happy to pay $10 a month for a 720p video with a like three 30 second ads in there.

I don't think this is the case because TV networks do not want to cannibalize cable sales, which is my regular Hulu content is only available on PCs.

I can already get all of these shows over the air for free with my Tivo, and I can fast forward through ads. Why would I pay an additional $10 a month for this, and lose the ability to skip ads?

"... native support for Hulu Plus on Apple TV would be a significant feature addition for the new device."

BS. Sorry MacRumors.

For most people, Hulu+ for $10 per month probably doesn't make sense... But for me, I'm rarely home and don't have cable/satellite or DVR service. So to have access to all the network TV shows, it's an OK deal. I'd prefer no ads, but for now, it's better than paying for cable/satellite.

Just my opinion.

True,
For me to totally ditch cable I just hope NBA (live sports in general) can offer their live games for a subscription. If I have that, boy not a single reason to keep cable for me anymore.

It'll get better over time, as they renegotiate their content deals for their new Hulu Plus service.

No doubt it'll get better, else it'll fail. Apple TV will probably get Hulu since it's already available for other iDevices. Since studios are allowing Hulu to stream to non-computer devices like Roku, it'll allow for Apple TV.

But will Apple write a Hulu Plus app for the Apple TV? Or rely on Hulu to write a decent one? I doubt it. So, AirPlay is our only hope. And, who knows if Hulu will implement it (since they're not using the standard iOS media player)?

Dear Hulu: if we wanted to pay for cable TV shows streamed to our TV via something like Apple TV we'd subscribe to cable.

Please realize that for the most part we're either cheapskates or don't care enough about first-run programming to pay for it. You should be happy that we put up with your ads and don't torrent/stream everything from China.

I know that someone somewhere along the line told you that you could "monetize your current viewer base," but they were misleading you. We love you because you're free and you should be happy you have some control at all.

It would be nice if CBS would follow along and have a place to watch their shows either on Hulu or somewhere else or is there currently a site set up for that? I know you can see current episodes on cbs.com but what about older episodes.

It amazes me how many people around here are so completely dumb that they can't see Hulu+ with commercials at $10/month beats cable at $60-$100+/month with commercials for some. It also amazes me how many people are so completely dumb that they can't see that Hulu+ doesn't replace what many find as good and/or convenient cable programming.

So many drama queens and so little recognition of what this is: A great alternative for some, luke warm interest for others, and "meh" for still more. It's an option for some so just treat it as such. Kudos to Roku and others for supporting this option. Just as the old world of TV offered solutions that included OTA, Cable, and various sat companies, having options in the new world of TV will be a crucial component to bringing a wider range of viewers into a Net delivered TV age.

Hulu Plus = Flash Video = Not on Apple

Last time I checked Hulu and Hulu+ used Flash Video formats. Changing over to something else (HTML5+h264) isn't going to happen since they've made a significant investment into the whole advertising infrastructure.

Conclusion: BS

I don't think Hulu is coming to AppleTV, much as I'd like it to. I've got an early Intel Mac Mini that struggles with Hulu content and it's due more to decoding problems and high CPU utilization than net bandwidth. Flash really does suck.

I'm crossing my fingers that I'm wrong, but I'm not holding my breath for this.

I used hulu+ on ps3 and iPhone and iPad for a month and its not worth it for me. I'd rather rent a few shows that I really want to see for $.99 with the AppleTV and netflix older.

Your argument is silly

I think it's kind of humorous how people many here rag on Hulu for charging $10 to watch a vast library of on-demand tv shows with commercials, but I'll bet most of you pay upwards of $120/mo for cable+tivo which ALSO requires you to watch (or fast-forward) commercials. So - $10 for tv shows w/ commercials or $120? Who's the fool in this scenario?

Full disclosure: I don't have Hulu plus, most of what I watch is available on the basic subscription. Once they add HBO and Showtime, though, I'll grab it without hesitation.

There's already a Hulu plus app and since apple tv uses iOS 4.1, it shouldn't be difficult.

The fool is the one paying 10 a month, for what win and mac laptops and desktops can view for free. The argument is not cable vs hulu plus...it's hulu.com vs hulu plus.
