I don't mind the current interface – except for the highlight line which appeared above the item selected instead of below, it often think I was selecting the item above.

Tolerable? It's so bad that I skip using it most of the time. It's an exercise in frustration and a waste of time. I also disagree that content brings forgiveness. I don't care if they have every title that ever existed. If it's a burden to use the app to find and watch it, it's not worth it.
It ain't that crucial for me. It's a streaming app. I don't place that much emphasis on it. There are far, far, far more important things in this world than Hulu's sub-optimal UI. Human tragedies are taking place around us. All around the world people are suffering. The pain is real and visceral. So Hulu's issues are minuscule compared to the chaos I'm referencing.

I mean think about having to deal with some random wifi-warrior with a 300 ping while trying to navigate the corkscrew at Laguna Seca in Forza 7. His car floating, popping in and out of frame, causing phantom collisions (I'm tearing up just typing this). Don't even get me started when that same wifi clown pops into my Apex Legends match. So you see, my problems are exponentially greater than yours. :D

And yet they're still committed to overlining (not event a real word) selections. 🤦‍♂️

Finally! This is long overdue. The only UI worse than Hulu's is Amazon Prime Video.

Interesting. I have not ever been to Hulu yet for some reason. I'll have to take a look just from curiosity.

I did wander into Prime Video once looking for something and got lost in a fit of giggles over one of their search-suggestions gone haywire, think it asked me if I had meant "arugula" and pointing the way to Amazon Fresh. It was like getting on the bus and just a few blocks down the road discovering I had passed into another country. It was so disorienting that I couldn't remember why I had boarded the bus to begin with. I ended up back at Netflix.

amazon's app looks and feels like a sluggish webpage. I quite like disney+ and look forward to the new hulu update

I dumped Hulu during the free trial because of their stupid and annoying icon that was displayed in the lower right portion of the screen. I applaud their UI improvement. But they just don't get it as to why folks are abandoning all the cable and network programming.
