Y’all are funny. This is how you rebuild a company and make it a whole new successful thing. Just relax. It’s obviously going to be a transitory period. Watch and see for sure. Good stuff.

If that is true, what companies have you actually rebuilt using this method? Certainly you have accomplished something like that instead of just hanging out here thinking Elon is special for no actual reason.

Twitter salaries avg to be about $150k/yr. With just the first wave of cuts it cost Twitter approx $113M for 3 months severance. Of that half that wasn't snapped, probably another half jumped ship or 1500 employees. That cost him another $56M. So about $170M or $56M/month wasted on culling the herd. Does Twitter even have that much working capital to work with?

Maybe he stole that sink from:

Just so I know when to line up and see you eat crow, how long do you think this transitory period is supposed to last? Shall I check in after six months? A year?

The massive stumbles he's been making out the gate suggest that maybe you should hold off on firing absolutely everyone until you know the lay of the land, and the fact that the guy who says "I believe in free speech and criticism" immediately turns around and fires anyone who suggests he might not be right does not bode well for running a company well.

Everyone seems to think Musk has lost his mind. Let's keep in mind that this guy has led PayPal, Tesla, Starlink and others and has the yet-to-be things like Boring and Neural-something-or-other. He seems to find great people to execute on his ideas and I think he's doing that with Twitter now. I think in two years Twitter gets it's **** together and becomes more than it ever was.

I mean as someone that’s had to clean house before, I get it. I took over a select service hotel as part of a promotion years ago, and frankly the first thing I did after getting the lay of the land was start firing people who had been skating by if not outright sabotaging the place. That’s basically what Musk is dealing with whether anyone wants to admit it or not (and plenty of those outbound twits did actually admit it publicly on that very platform) so no one should be shocked by this move. Twitter has been a dumpster fire for years, just one well hidden from the main road until someone like Musk pulled away the brush and brought attention to it.

Maybe it is necessary to take such drastic measures to find your strongest team. Keep in mind what Twitter actually does and that it had 7,500 employees at one point. How do you know which ones are actually doing the work and truly believe in the company? I think you set the bar abnormally high and see the reaction you get.

Also keep in mind that opinions from a few can easily get amplified to make it seem like the issue is bigger than it is.

I can’t imagine trying to manage this many people.

Maybe I'm in the minority but I'm not get the hate that the guy gets.
At least he build some interesting companies like SpaceX making space conquest affordable, among others.
Other people gets worshiped after doing literally nothing, like the crypto guru's out there.

He can do some weird stuff that's for sure, but I don't know why people want him to fail so hard.
And the 44 billions that the banks lended to him will be bailout by the government (i.e. your taxes) in case
of Twitter going bankrupt. No sure if it's something to be happy about, unless you want the economy to take
a further dive.

Twitter was, until a couple of weeks ago, a place that everyone has something to complain about, from misinformation to hate speech. But now, those employees that allowed all of that, are getting the hero treatment for not wanting to work in a different Twitter. 🤷‍♂️

We don’t want him to fail. We want him to do the right thing. Clearly, Elon isn’t doing that. So much has happened within the last 2 weeks and I’m sure there are a lot of people that are not happy with him. So far he has brought nothing valuable to Twitter. Money is not the answer to everything. I also believe he does not know exactly what he is doing. For example: $8 Verification fee.

With the exodus of employees, Twitter temporarily closed all office buildings and suspended badge access. According to Zoë Schiffer, Musk and his team are "terrified employees are going to sabotage the company."

Right. ;) It's not my (Elon Musk's) fault. It the employees' fault. It has to be the employees.
