Then why don't they say that? 60hz is useless and frankly, even an RTX 3080 would struggle to push 4k at a high frame rate.
60hz is useless? Really? Bit of a daft comment.

Pro display XDR uses...60hz! The majority of the monitors out on the market...60hz too. Displays supporting faster than 60hz are mostly marketed towards gamers at the minute.

Agreed. Rule of diminishing returns. 30 vs 60Hz feels massive, 60 vs 90 much less, and everything beyond 120 becomes placebo, leaving tournament shooter-games aside. I'd rather have a bright, color-accurate and contrast-rich monitor, but most of all it has to be sharp. 120Hz doesn't bring me much when reading text or editing photos/3D/music, but Retina certainly does. I am happy the new MBPs feature ProMotion screens, of course. I would have still bought it even without, as MiniLED is more important for me (e.g. enjoying content where black actually is true black).

Like I said... useless. My current monitor is 240hz and the previous was 165hz.

Dock has a million ports but in product shots only using two cables out the back. If you actually loaded this thing up it would be a mess on your desk. I prefer one wire that goes to a dock towards the back of the desk with all the wires completely out of the way.
Completely agree. Although this doesn't look like a bad thing to have in your laptop bag for a mobile workstation.

Why would anyone want a dock physically matched to the MacBook with a clumsy heavy short cable?

I have a simple Thunderbolt dock that connects with a single cable that does everything, and it's stashed out of sight with all my cables running to it.

With this setup you end up with a massive mess of cables sitting on your desktop. And this image is nutty - WTF use case is this? Open the screen to use the keyboard and obscure a screen? Or no keyboard?

Bunch of dummies with 3D renders rushing to crowdfund their projects.

The hilarious part of that photos is the laptop in front. With the screen down because it obviously gets in the way of the middle screen.

But this likely renders the keyboard annoying to use.

You can no one actually uses that desk and was a poor attempt to show off…. Umm I dunno what the point is exactly.

"fit underneath the chassis of a MacBook Pro. HYPER says that this design offers ergonomic benefits"

It's strange that people still promote the idea that tilting the keyboard up is actually ergonomic. Instead it puts strain on your wrists in exactly the wrong direction. In this case the effect is probably minimal but calling it ergonomic is a misnomer. I guess this is a strategy to pretend that a downside is actually an upside.
It's not about tilting the keyboard, it's about lifting the screen.

Btw, back then, in the time of sword and axe, every pro keyboard (even apple) had a tilting, because the tables weren't adjustable. If you had to type with your forearms extending above horizontal line, lifting the keyboard lowered the strain to wrists.

Maybe the kickstarter isn't using the most talented ad agency to produce their photos?
For functionality, you could easily rise the middle display to make internal one to be handy?

Edit: their website has lot of content with raised displays, so they just didn't undertand how some works?

lifting the screen has the effect of tilting the keyboard.

Of course this thing is not that big so the lift/tilt is not major. it's just that it's silly and inaccurate to call it "ergonomic".

perhaps what is laughable are the usb ports on the macbook. this thing has all of those ports that is only connected to 2 usb tb3 ports which simply doesn't have the bandwidth to support much higher. if you want more than 4k60hz, then give the monitor a dedicated port
I think they will sell quite a lot of these docks. Not everyone needs them but the people who do will be willing to pay.

The only problem I had with mine was that the DisplayPort's output wouldn't be recognized by my monitor. Even after a warranty swap, same deal. I assumed it was a limitation of the M1. So I got a USB-C to DP cable and it's been fine since.

As for heat... don't stick your face on it and you'll be fine.

high heat = low efficiency .... Lots of power lost to heat.

Therefore high heat is not great.
