Hyper today officially launched the HyperJuice Magnetic Wireless Battery Pack for the iPhone 12 lineup, allowing customers to utilize MagSafe and wireless charging technology to power up their iPhones on the go.

The battery pack only uses MagSafe to align itself magnetically to the iPhone 12 – it doesn't actually do the charging using MagSafe technology. Instead, it will charge the iPhone using standard 7.5W wireless Qi charging. The pack weighs 120 grams and has a built-in 5,000 mAH battery, meaning an iPhone 12 can be fully charged twice on the go.

The battery pack itself charges over USB-C, which also means it doubles as a portable standard power bank for any smartphone, thanks to its USB-C port that supports up to 12W of charging power. The battery pack design is straightforward, featuring a four-stage LED charging indicator and an on-off button on the bottom. Hyper says the battery pack features "industry-leading advanced temperature control, overcharge protection, and foreign object detection."

This is what happens when something is rushed to market, a complete joke of a production

I want to see someone do a test to see how many times you can actually fully charge the iPhone. I don't think you can get 2 full charges off 5000mah through wireless charging.

So lets see here - apparently we're willing to give up on thin pencil like chargers for a huge brick that will change the balance and dimensions of using the phone, all because that damn wire is in the way. Seems legit. :p

I’m surprised we’re not seeing more options for MagSafe battery packs, and ways that they’ll be used - like inside a backpack or briefcase compartment where you can have your iPhone connect and charge while on the fly. And thicker packs like this should have a folding stand as part of the device, that would allow you to set the phone / charger on a desk and continue to use the device in a more natural way (instead of having it lay flat).

Is it comfortable to use the phone with this thing attached? Would it be better/cheaper than having a generic battery and plugging that into the phone with a cable?

It look ridiculous, but this isn't an "all the time" solution. While I find wireless charging a bit of a waste, this isn't a terrible idea; eliminates the need for a cord. To each his own, I suppose.

That is probably one of the better uses of a magnet back on a phone. Being able to wirelessly charge without being tethered to an outlet or juggling two devices. Obviously this is something you wouldn't put back in your pocket, but if you were somewhere with a backpack, it is still more seamless than plugging in.

It is probably very hard to get of the phone.
😉
Imagine to make a call with this brick...

Are you kidding me? That massive a bump for 5,000 mAH?

Is it April 1st already?

I’m surprised given how much Apple highlighted the potential of MagSafe, they still haven’t came out with anything aside from the charger & wallet. All while not licensing 15W charging to anyone else.
It's been licensed - Belkin is one that has found it useful to pay the licensing fee for authorized accessories.

You can better ones from Ali. 10kmah, slimmer, etc.
I'm not so sure about 'better one's' vs more variety on their webstore front.

Personally avoid Chargefast.co site entirely!

Personal on-going issues:
1. told I was a valued customer and pandemic delayed shipping (that was over 30days ago)
- I replied stated hey got my name wrong (which is right above the subject line and TO field).
- they said it's human.
2. Provided with 1 tracking # 5 days from purchase- shows nothing left not even sticker generated.
3. Second tracking number - also not valid and this time requires a CODE they claim to have sent yet is NOT on any email correspondence they've sent to me.
4. A Third tracking number sent day 20, still and again NOT valid, none exists.
checked VARIOUS apps for unified tracking search and various websites from global shipping - nothing accepts their tracking number.

Real close in size to the Anker

HyperJuice 3.8" x 2.48" x 0.63" 150G 12W output on the USB-C
Anker 3.66 x 2.46 x 0.63" 130G 10W output on the USB-C

Advantage to HyperJuice on the 7.5 wireless charging vs the Anker 5W, as well as the 12 vs 10W on USB-C

But... I'll hang onto my Anker... work great and every gram counts. Also, not bothered by charging speed, I generally charge when traveling so not a rush

Dear Apple -

We're six months into the iPhone 12's lifecycle and MagSafe... Where is your MagSafe charging case?

So big, might as well just carry a power generator with you
Power generators are huge. This you can just slap right onto your phone.

That thing looks massive. Does it actually stay attached well?
It should. If it doesn’t I’d ask for a refund.

How many gallons does it take to charge that battery?
What do you mean by gallons? I think you mean how many pounds does it weigh. I’m gonna say about 1-4 pounds.

Have you confirmed that it's actually 15W other than what was advertised?
He may have. You can sometimes tell how many watts it’s has when you charge your iPhone or iPad.

what is the point of this? It's so gigantic!
It’s really not. It just seems that way in the picture.

I wonder if it will work through cases.
If you get a MagSafe Case yes it should. But if you don’t have a MagSafe Case, sorry.

how much is lost in heat charging wirelessly vs connecting with a wire
About 16%. When you use an outlet on a wall, it is going to do more heat because an outlet provides 5 more watts to your Power Adapter and your Lightning Cable.
