As soon as Truly wireless charging is a thing I'm all for no ports. By True wireless I mean being connected to a charger would be like being connected to wifi today. Free to move around within a certain range.

Then how fast you charge wouldn't really matter much because you would be pretty much topped off all the time.

Back on topic, I was going to strangle you for another notch thread, but this turned out to be a pretty interesting question.

I do believe we are going that route. Wireless and minimal design has been at the core of apple since it's beginning and jobs was doing as much as possible to get rid of cables. A full wireless iPhone or mac would be Jobs dream come true, and since we got rid of the audio port and wireless charging exists and has been adopted there's really nothing stoping it from happening. I give it 2 to 3 years maximum till we see a wireless iPhone.

LOL...

AirPods $159.99

LG Tone HBS-912 bluetooth headset $49.99

Don't be silly now.....large tube that hangs around your neck with cables that come out of it vs 2 small WIRELESS buds. thats like saying my grape is just as small as that banana, just stop it. ;)

No reason to stop. It's quite comfortable around the neck... amazing sound quality in both music and phone calls... and comfortable in the ears with battery life that lasts a good 12 hours at work.

Did you say something about wireless? These connect to the phone via bluetooth... not wires.

I wish I had a reason to want to pay 3x for Airpods... but I can't think of one.

Maybe I need to drink some more Apple kool-aid...?

Well said. I have the LG Tones Platinum and love them. They stay hidden under my shirt collar and I don't have to worry about losing them. The sound quality is excellent as is the battery life. Plus I like that it vibrates when I get a call which is great because I have a habit of leaving my phone on the seat and accidently leaving it on silent. The Bluetooth in my car is paired to my other phone so I have to have a workaround for my other phone.
