There are some places where the new UI looks cool, but many places where it's broken. I see this release as very similar to iOS 7. Just like we saw with subsequent updates after iOS 7, iOS 26 will continue to get refined.

Windows 7 was the last version of Windows that looked relatively cohesive. Even the oldest UI elements of the OS at that point still fit nicely within the Aero aesthetic.
I’m not digging the new look either. I’ve gotten it to look tolerable through accessibility and wallpaper choices.

I have been running it since beta 1. My family though… first comments. Why is it so ugly, why are my icons and text so blury. Some members immediately proceeded to delete the games and preview apps as they were foreign without opening them. They also dislike whats happened in safari in term of where the bookmarks are now within the menu.

As a counterpoint, as a professional curmudgeon and grumpy old fart who posted loads of “end is nigh” stuff about this, meh it’s fine.
I like it a lot. I’ve had it since beta one and I’m very used to it now. You’ll get used to it as well. I had to go back to iOS 18 for a screen repair last week and it felt so dated now that I’m used to 26. This UI feels classic Apple to me. You all must forget how garish OS X and the original iOS were if you think iOS 26 is distracting.
It is horrible OP, I'm with you. I put it on my iPad and was like eww. Will not be putting it on my phone. I got burned putting 18 on it and losing the good photos app that I use all the time. Learned my lesson.
Updated my iPad mini to test it out before updating my 15 pro but think it’s mostly ok. Yeah there’s some tweaks that need making but I’m sure Apple will take on that feedback and improve it over time.

I have to say I really like it as a starter point and I’m curious about how the next iterations will improve it.

I literally don’t really notice too many changes. In my few hours i have never once thought i dislike this or dislike that.
I like the floaty buttons stuff. The edges on the icons do look horrible though. Also changed the 'glass' clock font back to plain. Oh, and the new camera interface is trash. Way too much stuff is in hard to reach sub menus now. But I don't think it's bad, just need refinements. It's a .0 folks
what happened to the key button on the website login popup thing? it used to be right there on the login w face id box. I have to use multiple logins on one site I use. I can go in and hunt down the user/pw entry I need but I have to go digging now. ugh. I can't do it like this every time.
