Why/how is LCD better when it comes to battery usage compared to OLED?

It's only the case with Apple because iOS is dominated by white/blank spaces, so pixels are always on. If they introduce real dark mode (not gray mode), then battery life can improve dramatically. The display can take a breather.

Well, that essentially means as it is OLED isn't able to take as much advantage of better battery savings as it could with a darker OS, but I'm not sure that makes LCD better when it comes to battery usage.

I sent him an email once last year, and since I have read receipts, I can tell you with certainty that no one read my email.

Unless of course Apple somehow strips read receipt pixels so senders can’t tell. ;)
Lol might have better luck getting him noticed on Twitter he posts up abit on there if it is him :p

Read receipts only work if the receiver allows it.

No clue what you are talking about....those sent by my email app (Spark Beta) do not give any indication that a read receipt is attached, and you don’t have the option of allowing or declining it.

Did you look at it?? The read receipt approval procedure it mentions is for Outlook only, which I am very familiar with. It doesn’t apply to other email apps that have read receipts.

Yes I did. They start out with outlook and cover all other methods as well. Look for 2b. It covers the method used by Spark. It is even possible your email never made it to his inbox because of that feature.

Yes...that’s what I said in my original post:

You responded that read receipts have to be approved, which is not true.

I think we’re done here, right?

Have never done such a thing but the battery life on my XR is wicked good! I can do most things one handed and the screen isn’t bad at all. But the battery life, off the charger at 6am at 6pm I have 74% left, yes that deserves a praise email:)

Good on you Geekbabe, I was thinking of doing the same.

The XR is simply too good. Love the Dinoco blue, the form factor, the practical screen, the super speed, the intuitive log in process, the amazing camera and most of all the INSANE battery life.

By far the best apple product I ever own, followed closely by the 11.6 inch Macbook Air.

Apple really deserves 2 thumbs up for the XR. It is such an excellent product.

What phone did you have before this?

Every time I play with one at the store I feel it's too big and too heavy. The iPhone 8 is about the size limit for me for one handed use. The XS itself feels too big. I can barely hold the XR comfortably in one hand let alone actually use it.

I had the 7 plus before this, so the XR is actually smaller in terms of sheer size. I did check out the XS Max at launch but found it too unwieldy for one handed use. The XR is perfect for me.

I always delete emails with “read receipts” without opening them, as a matter of course. Everyone does.

There’s no such thing otherwise everyone would do it. Spark are having you on.

You don’t have the slightest idea what you are talking about.

I emailed him last September about delivery on my Xs Max about 9:30am EST. By 2:00pm EST the head of Apple Customer Service was calling me, Mr. Cook had sent my email on to her. She walked my device through shipping and delivery.
Was quite pleased.

Oh yes i do.

Well.......glad that’s settled.

Listen, maybe someone else here will take the time to explain to you the differences between Outlook emails with read receipts, and those sent by Newton and Spark Early Access.....it’s just not worth my time to educate you on a topic you clearly just want to pretend you already know everything about.
