I am sort of eating my words too. I was one advocating for a bigger screen and I really was considering andriod this time around.

But as I thought more about it I decided to stick with apple this time around. I don't want a monster in my pocket and I don't use my phone enough to justify a total change of ecosystem.

I have a gold on order. Saw a silver at best buy yesterday and I'm glad I chose the gold.

It's going to take forever to get here but oh well. My 4S is working well enough.

So I'm sort of eating crow here. The only thing I really want from apple that they haven't done is more customizing. I simply want to change my text colors and menu colors. But alas.

Coming from a 4S I can say that the overall quality and speed is blowing me away. The touch ID works without you even thinking about it. Kinda crazy that apple can design a product that has a larger screen but feels smaller at the same time. Very very satisfied so far aside from a few ios 7 bugs.

the fingerprint scan is nice. but I would not have upgraded if att did not goof and give me a really early upgrade and i could sell my 5 for a profit. I mean I have had more apps not working then on the 5 with 7 on it.

Dude. What do you mean goof? You mean an early upgrade glitch? That's the predicament Im in.. I just went on contract with Virgin and apparently I can upgrade early for $50. I called them and they said it was a glitch.

I have been saying how the 5s is underwhelming, not worth it, Apple has lost it's spark, etc. but I was WRONG.

I decided to pick up a 32GB space grey 5s on T-Mobile today (with the JUMP program) and I am absolutely LOVING this thing!

I do wish the screen was a bit bigger, but otherwise this phone is a quality product, and the space grey is stunning in person!

Also, I'm a bit obsessed with Touch ID and just how great the camera is compared to my HTC One that I replaced.

I like apple products, but common! Paid poster

Using my 4s screen seems so cramped now! Having said that games and videos just seem odd, apple really needs to push the boat out with an even bigger screen for their next upgrade.

Why is that? I was a 5 owner. Now I have a 5s. Did I do something wrong? I checked with Apple and they said it was OK for me to go to a 5s from a 5.

Damn i had a 7 month old 5 and got a 5S, no one told me i wasn't allowed to have one:rolleyes:

The iPhone 5s is a nice edition to the line up and after initially not thinking much of the iPhone 5c, and the plastic use i'm pleasantly surprised.

For me what the iPhone 5s offers is not enough to warrant paying out £549 to upgrade from my iPhone 5.

But each to their own.

I've upgraded from an iPhone 5 to a 5s and have found the changes to be extremely pleasant. Touch ID is incredibly useful, and the fantastic thing about it is that it's a feature that just works and sits out of the way. It's not constantly shouting at you to be used, but even after a week of ownership I've found myself thinking the old fashioned passcode to be clunky and slow. Never thought it was a problem before.

That coupled with the new camera, and the better performance which I'm sure will become much more apparent in the next year or so, makes it a pretty substantial upgrade. Also I went from a White/Silver 5 to a Space Grey 5s, so that's always refreshing.

Granted I didn't have to pay for my 5s, so obviously my opinion may differ as I didn't have to suffer the financial inlay for the new device, but I do think the 5s is certainly a very good incremental upgrade on the 5

I never quite believe these stories. You thought the 5S was underwhelming but you bought it anyway? One of either of these possibilities applies:

1. You didn't really believe it was underwhelming in the first place.

2. You have more money than sense.

Troll...

Bags the iPhone... goes buys said iPhone... now I LOVE the iPhone.

Can't wait to hear the rest. lolz.

Still amazed how these posts gain so much traction here. Bloody strong post OP.

I hate car X.... goes and buys car X... now loves car X because I just dropped 30k on it.

Hang on here, I was right with this guy. Was ready to buy an andriod. But I decided on me 5S. No need to judge what he actually felt. If he's lying then that's on him.

I will never doubt an "S" upgrade again. Every I think "it's not enough to upgrade, I'll wait" and I am proven wrong by the genii in Cupertino. The touch ID, the SLO MO is friggin AMAZEBALLS, and the speed make me want to throw my old 5 in the trash. But I will give it to my wife instead.

Keep on innovating Apple. I anxiously wait your next invention.

Switched from HTC One, that came out within the year didn't it? Me thinks OP just likes anything new and shinny.

Feels like a huge jump from my iphone 5 tbh

I second that. Touch ID alone makes it worthwhile.

We haven't herd his whole story, so you're a bit too quick to draw assumptions like that.

Ironically, I had the opposite epiphany. I bought myself an iPhone 5s (as an upgrade to my 5). After they hit and the first reviews came in, I decided it wasn't enough of a jump for me! Yeah, I ALWAYS intend to get the LATEST and GREATEST which shot down the tubes this year ha ha. I read about it all and decided that while the new features were cool, my 5 is the exact same to me. Part of that turnaround was the recognition that my wife would actually appreciate the fingerprint scanner and better camera more than myself being that she works in an environment where a passcode (or other security) is a necessity (and I don't) AND she likes photography and taking pictures and takes more of them than me.

There were rumblings that I could use an upgrade on one of my parents accounts -- we'll see...

I do like to see when people admit that they were wrong! My presence here (coming from Android) is my confession that I was wrong ha ha ha

Allow me to admit I was wrong about the 5c. When the word was out about a plastic, cheaper iPhone, I thought Apple was going to dilute its image by focusing on volume, as opposed to quality. Now that my wife has one, I can't stop picking it up! While I won't make a lateral move to switch from my 5, I'm happy Apple has another quality product on the shelf for us.

Yes, space grey is an awesome color I love it too, but I would keep my 5 for now and wait for iphone 6, now looking forward to ipad mini space grey ( I hope for retina screen ) :D:)

5 to 5S? The only thing I'm missing is touchID and a dual led flash that I'll probably never use lol

LOL, the 5S has a bit more going for it than that, but you make a good point. I went from a 5 to a 5S because I had an upgradable line, but I wouldn't have done it if it would have cost me a significant amount of money. It's a nice upgrade but certainly not a mind-blowing must have upgrade.
