Apple iPhone was the original. All other platforms are just imitations and take all their cues from Apple.

From the iPod, to the iPhone, to the iPad. Samsung and the such are just imitators that are trying to take a bite out of the crumbs left by Apple.

There is no real discussion here...

Exactly. Most people know exactly what an iphone looks like. Most people have no idea what a Samsung looks like.

you could always reserve one at an Appel store...
apple.com/../retail/iphone and click reserve.

.. = (your country)

Op are you really that daft?

CPU - Samsung
Memory - Samsung
Several patents that Samsung own - erm yeah samsung!

Samsung will be losing too

Must've hit a nerve, eh?

I don't even own an android phone, i have a ip4 till the new HTC comes out.... I just see no reason to get an ip5 with the much better options available. I know many people that loved iPhones till they got a HTC One X or a SG3. I never heard of a person that has used a SG3 and then moved to an iPhone and said it was better except people posting on Apple forums...

If I were a Samsung exec I would be somewhat irritated that people are willing to wait 3-4 weeks for a product that is technologically inferior (according to Samsung) than just buy the superior product Samsung is selling.

Would a samsung executive really be frustrated? Probably not. They are making money off every iphone 5 sold.

iPhone 5 sold = money for samsung
GSIII sold = money for samsung

Evil.

Actually wrong. Moved from a gs3 to the iPhone 5. I still kept my nexus 7 but I can't stand the phone it's not reliable and it's a brick. To each his own but I like the reliability of the iPhone and simplicity. Battery life is night and day as well.

Hahaha Samsung is lot more evil than you think.

This is probably more like it:

R and D + publicity (the legit way) = 1.1billion (may not succeed)

Copy apple + publicity from the trial = 1.1 billion (sure to succeed)

Samsung is evil. They are anything but dumb.

Here's a quote about the wonderful Samsung Galaxy S3 processor:

"It's got worse specs than the Galaxy S3 (1GB of RAM, dual-core CPU at 1.3GHz vs 2GBs of RAM and a dual-core processor at 1.51GHz), but the iPhone 5 consistently outperformed it, by considerable margins."

The Iphone 5 outperforms by a considerable margin.

I had a one x which i chose over an s3. The iphone makes it look like crap, i just got my 5 today and it is a far better phone if you like speed and simplicity. The droids lag like crazy. I have had droids for years. Never again.

When did the galaxy s2 come out? In the states...it was a year ago. Is it getting jelly bean? No.... It has the specs to run jelly beans (the nexus 4g does and it's single core hummingbird processor) but it isn't getting updated to jelly bean...it just now got ICS

The iPhone 4S got iOS 6.....as did the 4, though it is missing a few features, but its also over two years old. Actually, come to mention it the 3GS got a limited version of ios6.

That is the difference. You can by an iPhone expect a minimum of two years of coverage, no rooting or roms required. For myself, that is a big deal...I don't have the time or desire to root and rom away. I used too all the time.

Plain and simple...iOS products supports better than any other platform as a whole, at this point in time. Why does it matter how great a phone is if it isn't official supported and maintained for the length of contract? Buying phones out of contract is expensive.

I love the iPhone 5 and plan on keeping it for a long time, but I have also owned several androids: htc hero, htc evo, htc evo 3d, Samsung galaxy s2, galaxy nexus, and htc evo 4g lte ( one x variant).

The difference between iphone and all the other phone makers is that the iphone is easily identified by most people without Apple having to stick their name on the front. All the other makers have to place their big ugly name on front of phone, because most people would not be able to identify the phone or the brand without it. You know you own the market when people know exactly what the item is even without a name tag on it.

Of course it's easily identifiable, it's always the same old design! :p

That's a pretty irrelevant generalization. Does it matter where it gets posted? I went from S1, to iPhone 4, to S3, to iPhone 5. I like both current phones, the i5 and S3. They each have their benefits compared to the other. It was a tough choice to make, but built quality and form factor were the two things I finally had to use. I LOVE the customizable ability of the S3. That was almost the killer aspect that kept me with the S3. The games I played on it (which are mostly on my N7) were great too. Riptide, Shadowgun, and a dozen other great games... definitely boasting the Tegra 3 capabilities. Battery life on the i5 has been a lot better for me than the S3. I dunno, I can go on all day about why each phone is actually really nice to use in certain aspects. That being said, I don't rule out the S3. I still have it on my mind. So I haven't 100% ruled it out quite yet.

Irrelevant to some to be honest. They care about what the spec list LOOKS like, not how it actually performs.

Well, kinda. Apple is slower in most ideas, but they do it right. That's why they successful. Simplify it, beautify it and expensify it. Lol. :)
