I know you really adore U.S.A., but, as a Chinese, could not you be a little more self-respect? I really want to hit myself to the wall!

it shoud not be said that i adore usa,you can say that i adore any excellence.i think that state is a pseudo-proposition,it is not important where i live ,the most important things is that i want to have a happy life and enjoy the excellence.you are violent? :D

The salary for foreigners that teach English is around $8000 per month. I don't know why.

It's quite simple: Appearances are very important in China. So even if you are a terrible teacher, if you look foreign [and more like a English speaker] more students will want to learn from you. It's the false perception. With that, they will pay for your classes and the schools will be willing to pay you more. If you are Chinese and try to teach English [even if you are very good and may be a foreigner by nationality] students will assume you're just another pretentious schmuck.

that's right, according to your idea,i think as if you know Chinese culture well?but i have different opinion. you see, China is poorer than your developed coutries, foreign people have more money than Chinese,Chinese always think that all of those developed countries are better than China, our Chinese always adore and fawn anything in developed countries.a lot of our Chinese people always regard foreign people as God,they like to talk, play, love with you.they feel very proud if someone has foreign friends.China is not developed, our Chinese are not confident! you can see Chinese adore developed countries,in fact they adore more money, advanced science and technology and so on in developed coutries.we can say that love you ,love your dog.:D if you are not from developed countries Chinese are impossible to adore and fawn you.if you are come Africa,India,North Korea and so on ,I am afraid that few Chinese adore you. are Chinese so snobbish?I do not know, who can tell me the best answer?

this is the most interesting thread i have read on here in a while, and also got off track so quickly..

China is not so poor as you think, YangJian. The countryside is poor, but in the major cities, middle-class and upper-class life is now quite common. In fact there are so many $50,000+ cars driving around in Beijing & Shanghai, I'd say those cities are on track to be some of the wealthiest in the world.

Fun Thread!

~YangJian, if u can somehow teach me writing Mandarin i would be happy to teach you my horrible 78 avg english. mom tried to teach me but the first two words she taught me, she wrote it wong >.<

ahhh i miss china, haven't gone back ever since i left...been away for 8 years now...8 years...that's also how long i lived in china

wow, interesting, but those ppl in china that adore foreigners...seems like they have no pride in china....they should study hard and work hard to make china a better place so that maybe one day, foreigners will adore us :D

off topic questions(don't know where to put it)

Well I know that, and yes, I know in their mind, it makes more sense to pay more for a foreigner to teach English, particularly if it's American English. I just don't know why this has to be the case. A Chinese English teacher in GZ makes around $2000 per month, which apparently (and surprisingly) is the same amoun that a university lecturer earns? That surprised me. It's almost unbelievable!

@Yangjian: I have visited South China University for a few hours last time I was in Guangzhou! Nice university.

I always wanted to know if the Chinese people care if their internet is filtered. The media and blogs over here make it such a big deal.

sorry,my opinion is not comprehensive, thank you for your better idea,I agree with you.you do not know that i am from poor countryside, my parents are peasants,I have lots of relatives and classmates and friends who are also poor peasants,at the same time, you should believe that population of Chinese peasants should be more than the population in all cities,so,i think that China is poor:D do you think if I am pooer? I think I am poor though I am a lecturer in university.why?my wages are RMB70000 a year, if i want to marry i must afford an apartment.why?few girls will marry with you if you have no house.but the price of an apartment is about RMB500000-800000.and my parents become older day and day,I must give some money to them,I must spend money on eating, internet, dating and so on,do you think that i am rich or poor?certainly,middle-class and upper-class all have good lives, but they are common?no.and do you think their money are clean and fair?no.we are often confused with superficial,it is not right,do you agree with me?maybe I am wrong, welcome you to criticize me,thank you for your attitudes.you are a good guy,:D

whats the high res on imacs for? can't even plug in my pc and use that resolution.....crysis warhead runs horribly at 1080p -----------i can't understand:(

what are macs made for? getting board, no games work, windows partition keeps corrupting disk volume of mac...anything i should try to make it more entertaining?----------i can not understand too:(i am so fool, could you teach me and let me be smart?thank you,my friend.

oh is wei suo a word in china?
----what?:(I can not still understand.

haha ,you are so lovely,i am sure that your parents love you very much.

I would like to teach you to write in Chinese.I also hope that you would like to teach my English.Chinese language and character are more difficult for you and all of foreign friends to learn.that is a fact.how to learn to write the Chinese characters?I think that you should read, speak, remember, write every Chinese character that you want to learn.first, you should learn to read and write the simple characters, such as one(一,you can pronounce[i:]),two(二,you can pronouce[er]),three(三,pronounce sa),sun(日,pronouce [ri])and so on,day after day,you can write in Chinese.:D

miss China,gone back,8?what?why?how?I do not know.you should explain:D
to adore developed countries is not wrong, the poor always adore the rich, certainly,Chinese government and Chinese people should work harder to let China be richer.
