I tried the 7 in store and didn't notice any difference in performance. I won't be upgrading my 6S Plus anytime soon, not least because I don't want my B&O cans permanently attached to a dongle.

Maybe not, but given that I use my 6S+ pretty much all day everyday if the differences were significant I'm sure I'd notice them. Even without all of the apps and little to no storage I couldn't tell them apart.

Why does it matter if it's "scientific " or not?! As long as the person who's going to use it is not feeling any difference, that's what matters the most.
