I'm sorry, but I've never understood the hand wringing that goes on by some over just one single stuck pixel. I have one that is stuck blue on my iMac, but I literally cannot ever see it unless I'm on a totally black screen, and even then I have to lean forward up close to the display in order to see it. During normal use, I do not ever notice it at all. The pixel density is so high on modern displays that a single individual pixel is extremely tiny and having just one stuck pixel is nothing more than an extremely minor flaw. It's like saying your car is needs a new hood because there is a pinhead sized ding in it or something. If you have a cluster of stuck pixels right next to each other that's a totally different matter, but just a single one on it's own is really nothing.

i got my new mac book pro in the mail this past thursday and when i booted it up the first thing i noticed was a bad pixel, it was just one at the top center of my screen but i am sort of a perfectionist. i took it in to an apple store and they suggested i send it back and that i would receive a new one which is what i ended up doing. i wish i would have seen this thread a day earlier as i believe the pixel was reddish, i would have tried the massage trick but too late for me now, i have to wait a whole week again.:( But i only had bad pixel and did not even question me about exchanging it for me, both at the apple store and on the apple care hotline

I am also a perfectionist (especially on Apple products). Therefore I am quite sad about the dead/stuck pixel.

Exactly. I agree, I am the same way. If I were to open my MBP one day and see that I would be pissed, and would be talking to Apple to get it fixed ASAP, esp. on a 3 week old machine. Heck first thing I did when I got mine was buy a cover for the keys for when it was closed and a nice back pack for it(student). With the price of these machines its a no brainier to protect your investment. Im with ya on gettin it fixed friend would bug the hell out of me too!
