Unfortunately nothing in disc utility is helping I cannot restore from time machine backup I cannot reinstall OS X or recover from disc utility is there anymore suggestions
It says error occurred while preparing the installation try running application again and it keeps say the same thingIf your hard drive appears (including the name of your hard drive) in Disk Utility, then you should be OK --- just reinstall OS X. Easy to do that from the "recovery mode" system menus. You won't lose your own files, or apps that you might have installed.
This reinstall just copies a fresh set of your operating system files. Then, restarts, finishes the install with those downloaded files. The install process might take more than 30 minutes, but you should boot back into your hard drive, no harm done.

It won’t it just goes to a file with a question markBooting to your Recovery system: Restart while holding Command + r
What are you using for an internet connection?
This is the screen I get when I hold option when I turn on the computer
And this is what I get when I try to reinstallQuit Disk Utility (from that screen that you posted), which should return you to the main menu screen for your recovery system. Choose Reinstall OS X...
And this is what I get when I try to reinstall
Wifi as an internet connection should I use a Ethernet cable insteadYou are in the right place
Choose "Reinstall OS X", and continue with that.
Make sure that your Macintosh HD is selected, when it asks for the destination for the install, and that should be all you need to do.
