and it's a feature that I care a lot for. A LOT of people like it too. Stop being so selfish. You know it's not a problem of wasting Apple's resources. Some of you people just want to starve others because you don't like the taste.
What? How is it rude to demand a feature that should be there for an "iPod" phone?
demanding is rude, requesting is not. if you had said "i would like the ability to have tracks crossfade" that would not have been rude, instead you have stated "i demand crossfade!!!" like a spoilt child demanding ice cream....

I'm admitting I don't care about being rude. But I'm being rude towards Apple. Other people here are being rude towards people who want crossfade.

Oh really? And how much is A LOT? Cause I don't know anyone who even bothered with this function on previous iPods or in iTunes. Maybe A LOT is just only you (and wedding party DJs)...
Anyway, that feature isn't even on the horizon of the update scheme. So demand all day long, all you want (and don't forget your Nano).
Well I Demand that you go find Mr Jobs and then tell him that he needs to implement Super Duper Beat matching Hybrid Crossfade with extra wedding party DJ effects or you will Jailbreak you iPhone and install android on it.
crossfading without any sort of beat matching algorithm is pretty amateurish. conflicting bpm and snares are more annoying than good.
just a thought, but maybe so many people complained about the crossfade as it wasn't beatmatching or anything that they just took the feature out?
When the music player app on the iPhone was built, every feature had to be evaluated and written from scratch. They probably determined that there was not enough demand for the feature, or that a proper implementation (beat matching) would be too time prohibitive.
Submit your request to Apple. If enough people demand the feature, it may get added.
It's also my understanding that the enchantments to the iOS4 music player API will now allow for more robust access to your library. Maybe a 3rd party app could be created to meet your needs.

I can sympathize with the OP wanting features that are included on some models of iPhone/iPod but not others. However, I can't sympathize with the attitude of "I am entitled to everything." Generally, negative and demanding attitudes won't get you anywhere. Neither will complaining on an unofficial forum that really has no bearing on what Apple does or does not do.
OP, instead of "demanding" anything from Apple, I'd suggest (like many others have) that you submit your request to Apple via the official channels they have provided. You may not see the outcome you desire, but I'd be willing to bet that they would take you more seriously if you presented your request in a less demanding and hostile way.

Add me to the group that has requested cross-fade since the ipod 4G.
As far as I know, Apple has only included it in one device, and that's the last Nano.
Something tells me they probably stripped that out as well on the new Nano-shuffle.
Everyone has different ways of listening to their music.
If you heard everything how the artist intended it, you would have to remove the shuffle function as well.
Just give me crossfading, and if you don't want to, at least let developers write apps that can do it.
