I second this. Adobe is hands down the best if you can afford the software.
i'm actually asking my clients about this, and they agree that adobe is the best. i'll look into it.
freelance translating is good if you have a solid referral list. you need a good reputation, and clients that are willing to vouch for your services. it's easier said than done, but as far as software goes, i have many colleagues who stand by trados. give it a try. whilst not perfect, i don't think it's bad.
