that does not happen here (and i have 5 external drives connected). check the permissions on the drive itself...

It’s not just apps we are talking about. Moving apps and files around also frequently requires password.
Since my password is rather long, it is tedious task to re enter it so many times. And I am not gonna use less secure password, I do not think that is a proper solution.

am not experiencing that here; and what do you mean, 'moving apps'... do you not keep them in the apps folder? finally, a shorter password can still be secure, it's the complexity of it more than the length...

really, if you come up with something no one will think of, you should be fine. are we talking a password on your mac, or an icloud password you use on the mac?

You made a claim that short but complex password can be as safe as long password (complex or not).
I am just saying that claim is wrong, and it has undeniable evidence based in pure logic/math.
