Thank you for your informative opinion. It was certainly worth your time to write and our time to read.

Panther has a really cool feature that is mapped to the power button too. You just have to hold it down for a few seconds to get the effect. Try it out. :D

Wow, that really is an interesting tool, except it really wasn't built into panther, try going back and using say, OS 7.1 or 8.6 or anyother one, and guess what! When you hold down the power button, OMG!, you get a screen that asks you what to do, or it just turns the computer off! Its called and override! wow, this is amazing, and you actually thought that we would fall for this? Go You.

There are TONS of keyboard shortcuts for the apple. Try this site out http://docs.info.apple.com/article.html?artnum=75459 They have a lot of the standard keyboard shortcuts, that you're looking for.

I've been using Macs for over 10 years now, and I'm still learning all sorts of cool new keyboard shortcuts. I always stand in awe of the programmers at Apple who think of all these cool things.

Cmd-tab was a feature back in the OS9 days (I cannot remember it in OS8, but it might have been there, too).

In OS 8, in the upper-right hand corner where you see the current application's name... that changes as you Command+Tab.

;) Yeah, just ask MSFT - they let every PC user beta test for them ;)

I thought they moved out of beta with Win98 by canceling service for it? ;)

Win98 BTW has a serious issue where the installer won't run if the computer has SCSI devices attached via a PCI card. No matter what you do it. You must take out the card to get it to work. And for that matter, any PCI card really shouldn't be in there while installing or else bad stuff might happen. Like no drivers being installed for anything.....

It was a sarcastic way of saying, "Relax!"

We were all new at one time. And for the nitpicking record, it wasn't OS 7.1 but System 7.1 due to the way System Software was made at Apple.

You can even try it now-- go to the Apple menu, "About this Mac" and look at the version number there. Then go to the Finder menu and select "About the Finder". Different version numbers, eh?

is there a way in Adium to switch tabs in the IM window..... yeah i'm lazy what can i say.....

Yes. In fact, you have the choice of thre shortcuts. Go to the preferences, and choose the "keys" section. The pull-down menu sets the key which changes tabs. I think it defaults to Apple-Left and Apple-Right. The other options are Apple-Shift-L/R and Apple-[ / ] (the bracket keys).

Unfortunately, no way to get it to match the funky setup in Firefox. But if you use Safari, and you set to Apple-Shift-L/R, it'll be the same in Safari and Adium. :D
