How's it replacing a shuffle when it's on your wrist, weighs more, and has no way to plug in headphones?

Ever heard of Bluetooth? Most people use the shuffle when working out, and cordless headphones would be more convenient in that scenario anyway. Plus 2gb of music storage which is the same as the shuffle.

… I don't ever want that unsightly tan-line again.

I can't think of one thing I'd use Apple Watch for that my iPhone can't do better. Even with Apple Pay, I have to keep cards or cash with me in case the vendor doesn't use it.

It does look cool, though. I like everything except the black bezel.

A $349 guitar tuner, perhaps? Nah.

Of course you keep cards with you. But every time I can use Apple Pay, I do because it's significantly more secure. I got impacted directly by the Target scam, and who knows how many others got hit by the Home Depot hack and so many others. Every time I can use Apple Pay, that's one less time I'm susceptible to those kinds of hacks.

I use my phone for Apple Pay now. It'll be more convenient once I get my watch.

And that's the thing that many people don't 'get' (or don't see value in): it's not always that the watch does the things better, but it does many things more conveniently. That is of great value to many people.

Umm, yes I've heard of bluetooth and the bluetooth workout headphone market is dreadful.

Plus that's yet ANOTHER thing to charge.
You guys must like just plugging in chargers all day long.. lmao

Watch, Headphones, iPhone, MacBook, iPad....the charging list is getting endless!

right, the people that are here because they are actually interested in owning the device.

If you paid attention to what people are saying instead of just being upset we don't agree with you....most of us went to try a watch with an open mind (since we love Apple stuff and have for decades) and were not impressed.

We are only even *on* this forum because we love Apple stuff and use it daily.

...finally, you don't have to be commenting only on things you would like to own.

That's not a discussion, that's an echo chamber.

Unfortunately battery technology isn't good enough yet to power something so small with so many features and with such a sharp display for a week. But until it improves I don't mind charging it once every night before I go to bed.

Those would be "the defenders"

I'm hoping that you jest, and you really CAN figure out what his point is.
If not, here it is: You are the one drawing a line in the sand and creating this "us against them" mentality by creating two distinct groups- people bashing the watch & "the defenders", as you call them. Nobody else is conjuring up these images, but you. Then (oddly enough), you get defensive & switch your tune to "can't we all get along & respect other's opinions". Lol. You can't see the dichotomy there?? If you want your opinion to be respected, don't delineate purposefully a fictional "enemy" group to argue against.
It seems like picking a fight, then telling everybody to calm down.

no, i saw your thread. You weren't impressed and thats your opinion

I'm not telling you you shouldn't post. I just find it interesting that you think anyone who wants a watch is a "defender". I don't think anyone was trying to tell you that you should be forced to like it.

Fair enough.
"those that like the watch"

Happy?

You had to throw in the last line, didn't you? This is why so many hate this type of thread. It's not just that you want to intelligently discuss why you aren't interested in the watch. You also want to make a stupid and ignorant slur that invalidates any attempt at intelligent discussion on your part. You don't want the watch because you aren't intelligent enough to use it.

And btw, of course you have to keep your cards with you "in case the vendor doesn't use apple pay". Are you in another universe? Most vendors don't accept apple pay. So of course you have to still carry your cards. Sheesh.

I honestly don't mind the criticism of the watch itselff. It's when it starts getting personal and when people insult those who buy one when it crosses the line.

I mean I can go in the Alternatives to iOS devices forum and troll it all day if I wanted to, but I have a "to each their own" mentality.

I get a tan line every summer from swimming, cycling, kayaking, rock climbing, marathons etc. My SUUNTO AMBIT3 connected sports training watch logs all fitness data posts it via iOS APP TO SUUNTOS sports fitness site. Impact, water, and crush resistant it's so durable, easy to read, and accurate I have no desire to substitute an Apple Watch.

My Apple watch will simply be for fun when not being highly active during the week at work. Besides to be honest after ten years of using SUUNTO, I'm now fortunate to be sponsored by them which entitles me to free equipment.

Or conversely when people insult those who even "dare to dream" of starting a thread that isn't glowing in positivity, right?

Goes both ways, right?

I never attacked the OP. He had a point, I had a counterpoint. That's how forums work. But saying things like "here come the defenders" or "$1000 for a watch lol" definitely don't promote a healthy discussion.

If you don't like tone of someones comment, why not just pass over it and move on?

Why keep it going in a bad direction by even acknowledging it?

Same goes for people that don't like a thread talking negatively about a product.
Just don't read it and don't comment on it.

Done. Problem solved.

I try to ignore that stuff but the topic was brought up so I offered my opinion.

Look, it's obvious that people from both sides have different opinions. I think it's best to just agree to disagree and leave people to their own devices.

Thank you for letting us know how it is not for you.

You may want to head over to the Miley Cyrus forums and post how you don't like her also because I'm sure her fans would want to hear that because it changes how they feel about her.

Well said
