I actually was going to go from the 6s to the 5s if this phone did not come to fruition. That is how badly I wanted the 4" form factor back.

Dang. I wanted the 4" form factor back but I wasn't willing to downgrade to it. But now that it's an option, I'm in. Going from the 6 to the SE, it's an upgrade for me.

The lack of a 128GB option killed it for me. That said I realize I am not in a majority who wants/needs that size. But I keep all of my photos and videos on my phone so I'm a disappointed they stopped at 64GB. Makes sense for Apple though.

Yeah I have a 128GB iPhone currently. If Apple only put out 16/32, it'd be a no-go for me. But I can manage stepping down to 64GB, but I completely understand those who can't.

It's very cheap for an iPhone. I don't really use 3D touch and I'm definitely considering it. My Nexus 6P is ridiculously big. I enjoyed the screen size at first but it's just becoming ridiculous.

Not at all in my opinion.

This is iPhones we are talking about here. $399 for a 16GB iPhone (or $499 for 64GB) with flagship specs is $250 cheaper than the next flagship model, the 6s, and well worth the money compared to janky android devices that don't have nearly the same battery life, iOS exclusives, Apple support, or consistent updates.

Exactly. Do I wish the SE had 32 Base? Yes, but look at everything else you get. Killer battery life, flagship level performance, amazing camera, and a consistently reliable device. Even my Nexus 6 that started off at $650 can't get as much battery life as my iPhone and it's not as consistent. The camera also isn't the greatest and the display burned in easily. The $399 SE is a bargain!

I have a 64 GB 6 and barely use 30 GB right now. If I were to get rid of the stuff I don't use, I'd probably only have 15-20 GB taken up. I could make a 32 work if it were offered.

I couldn't believe this phone was going to happen until I saw it, well, it has happened! It's the phone that is going to replace my 5S when the time comes. I'm anxious to see the level of sales that it generates.

I've been fortunate enough to get by with 16gb until the 6s came out. I have the 64gb now, and like you carry all photos and videos with me. I've been lucky in that by time I need 128 (or more than 64gb) I should have options. I don't really take many videos. Live Photos have totally filled that void.

I'll be moving from my Note4 to this phone. It looks sweet to me.

going from a buggy piece of **** to #itjustworks

I hear ya. In honesty it's not like I 'need' to keep everything but I store everything in folders on my Mac and sync to them back as folders in the photos app. I just like the ability. I could leave off my videos of concerts, my daughter, and pets and get under the 64gb mark but I guess I don't want the SE badly enough to do so.
Plus, being 6'7" tall it's hard trying to go back to typing on that size with my mitts.

I also like the price of SE. Makes the rest of the iPhone line up overpriced, especially 6/6plus. - both of these phones should drop the prices by at least $100. I just do not see why .7" extra screen, super ugly and not ergonomic design and 1 year old tech should cost $150 more compared to SE.

in my opinion this should be the new pricing structure for iPhone for 16 GB models - each other memory increment should only be $50

iPhone SE - $399 / $449 - 64gb
iPhone 6 - $449 / $499 - 64gb
iPhone 6+ $499 / $549 - 64gb
iPhone 6s $599 / $649 - 64gb / $699 - 128gb
iPhone 6s+ $649 / $699 - 64gb / $749 - 128gb

I'm actually *pleased* they omitted 3D touch. The only time I ever used that was "by accident".

Same for slower Touch ID. My 6s essentially has "no lock screen" as I can never consistently get to it without unlocking the phone completely.

The SE is a total home run to me.

The feature wasn't OMITTED. NOr by accident or on purpose! They REUSED THE SAME DISPLAY FROM 2013. Come on now - why invest in 3D Touch for a 640p display. Makes ZERO SENSE. Just recycle the old display and call it new. The new touchID I cannot comment on because I don't have preference either way.

Guys, this is just a recycled 5S with the same SOC from the assembly line. Except they obviously had to gimp on HDR in video, OIS, and touchID.

It was omitted from design consideration (i.e. adding a new display)

The 5s screen and PPI are just fine.
Also - This is NOT the SOC from the 5s - It's the one from the 6s.

We get it - You love your iPad Pro 13" and you hate the SE
Message received.. lol

We aren't sheep - The SE fills a void for lots of us that simply want an updated 5s, which the SE delivers on.

No offense to the peeps who can see pass this distortion field but the iPhone SE moniker - the SE part stands for "Schumck Edition" truly!

For a family that prefers iOS, has kids that need phones, and prefers to use prepaid, this SE is a godsend. My kids are not quite old enough for this yet, but when looking ahead, I was never sure how I would swing it without buying used or something.

Exactly. I'm not buying a poor man's iPhone. For some of us, it's the iPhone in the perfect package.

5.7" super AMOLED QHD down to a 640p 4" display. Makes sense.

Pure spec - Note has it - but for something that just works and isn't gonna fall apart, Apple tax is worth it.

I see some complaining about what was left out of the iPhone SE, but those who were actually interested in the SE to begin with seem to be happy. I know I am.

So there's no 3D Touch or 128GB option. We knew that going in based on rumors. I have a hard time seeing Apple leaving out 2GB RAM on this, given the extent they went to make the SE as powerful as the 6s. There's also a few other small details...such as no 2nd-generation Touch ID.

For everything Apple left out (which isn't much), there's a lot they put in. I'm impressed that it has the same camera as the 6s for one thing. I'm willing to sacrifice a few things to get the form factor I want. Who cares if it doesn't have every last thing from the 6s...at least this is basically a flagship iPhone.

And the price is great, better than many of us expected. I'll order the 64GB Space Gray on Thursday. I'll be coming from a iPhone 6 128GB. I'm not a hardcore iPhone user, I prefer to do things on my Mac, so going down to 64GB won't really be an issue.

I'm just happy with what we got. The advertised battery life also seems good.
Apple knows how to punish buyers into submission. After three years Apple broke it's moratorium on modern size displays. Finally after 38 months of very enjoyable 5.5" through 6.0" Android use, Apple finally offered the iPhone 6.

I'd trade the spec sheet and display resolution for a consistent and reliable phone. I actually just did. Went from a 6" 1440p Nexus 6 that had its fair share of problems to a 4.7" 750p iPhone 6 that just works. Totally worth the trade off in my eyes.

well, if it was $299 I can see the appeal. $399 for 16GB in 2016 isn't going to dent any sales of android phones - and flagships priced around $399 even!

So are you saying the iPhone se won't sell? I'll take that bet if you want
